Meeting on new high school building...

If anyone is interested there will be a community meeting on the new high school Monday March 7th at 3:45 pm and again at 6:00 pm in the Ellet High Library.
This meeting should include all the final plans and a look at the exterior. Groundbreaking is scheduled for early summer.
Lots of exciting stuff going on. In relation to athletics, the main gym will seat 1400 and have all high back chair seating with built in scorers table.
The weight room will be inside the school and was slated to be 11,000 sq.feet.
There is also talk of putting turf in at the football field.
Come check it out, going to be a beautiful state of the art building!

If the weight room will be inside the school it would be nice if they could extend the existing weight room and turn it into a new locker room. The existing locker room is small and the absolute pits, and the coaches office is like a closet. They could get the community involved like they did when they built the weight room some 8 or 9 years ago.

Weight room and Ellet in the same sentence is an oxymoron. There is no way most of those players use the weight room regularly. I saw a player come out of the weight room and thought he had strings hanging out of his coat, but then realized the were actually his legs and arms!

If this is a done deal and financing is in place this building would be on par with any building in Summit or Portage County. With these programs being offered they could draw kids from anywhere. Good for Ellet and good for Akron.
