Season started Wednesday. Some wins over low-majors. No signature wins so far. Toledo played Bradley tight and WMU played Butler tight but both lost close games.

Toledo plays X at noon today. Ohio plays Illinois at 1. MAC is pretty heavy dogs in both

Illinois hits free throws with 2 seconds left to pull out win against Ohio. Disappointing we couldn’t pull it off but amazing performance against #8 team in the country. Things looking up for the Bobcats. Jason Preston had 31 including go ahead basket with 7 seconds left.

Toledo holds to form. Can't hold a lead. This has been a Coach K bugaboo forever. It means something to be competitive with X but means no dance again.

Ohio was very young last season but appeared to be getting hot heading into the MAC Tournament... Unfortunately the season got cancelled before we could really see if they were for real... The start to this season has officially taken the hype from a light simmer to a full boil!

In other MAC news, Kent took #15 UVA to OT on Friday before falling. UVA got upset earlier last week to San Fran so they may drop from the Top 25. WMU had MSU within 2 today with 11 to play but MSU pulled away in the final ten minutes. Some sketchy results from other MAC squads including CMU losing by 19 to a D-2 team...

Pretty impressive feat of futility by the Vikings going scoreless for a stretch of over 13 game minutes.

Ball State beats NIU in OT. Interesting there are all these MAC games already... I believe Ohio doesn’t open conference play until 12-29...

Toledo plays Michigan tomorrow. Go Rockets!

!!!
Nice get. But now Toledo has too many games on the schedule. So, gets interesting somewhere down the line.

I don't know what to make of the possibilities. Michigan already beat BG, voted preseason fav. But barely got by Oakland who UToledo destroyed.
Worse part, It's not on free anywhere. Not sure if it's even televised or streamed by anyone.

Boals is so good. OU will be solid as long as they can keep him there.

All of the teams in the MAC are off and running except MAC champs Akron. Akron doesn't play a game until this Saturday and it's just a warmup against Cedarville. Word is Covid went through the team so it's probably just as well.

Akron finally played a game yesterday against that perennial powerhouse Cedarville. The Zips were one of fewer than 30 teams who had not yet played a game. They now play St. Bonaventure Tuesday at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. Should be a good early season test.

Kansas City exposed UToledo's lack of a center and our coach's inability to keep what is posing as a center, in the post. Kid is being put in a bad humiliating situation. BUT, toledo pulled it out. Some of the UT posters are suggesting Fr guard Rollins is legit NBA potential. We'll see. He's handling himself pretty well. Definitely pro somewhere potential. I like Jamere Hill other Fr at guard also.

The one that will go pro, somewhere is Millner. Originally a Rocket recruit who ended up at Cleveland St, then down to Fl at a small school, now finally to the Rockets. Has been able to create and make his shots against the entire schedule. Plays great directing the offense, back to the basket at the top of the key. Assists, rebounds, points, he's glue. Defense pretty solid too.

Young but solid everywhere but the paint, with NO solution in sight there.
