Surprising this game was this close and tied late in the 3rd.Louisville has their core back while Glenoak is rebuilding this year.

Molly Brown went out with an injury late in the first and didn't return. I would say that didn't help, but Clara Lemmon replaced her and was the lead scorer.

We played sloppy no doubt about it. I'm not one to blame refereeing, but it was less than par both ways no doubt. The inconsistency in it may have disrupt us some, but you have to overcome that. Still a 15 point victory, Leps won at GlenOak by 20 though.

Here's an example of the refs not taking control of the game:

That's because GlenOak is a well coached team and will make some noise this year

They will be making noise for many years. 5 Freshman on varsity and the freshman on JV scored 17 points hitting 1 three-pointer and two very deep 2's. They will certainly be a force to be reckoned with.

Yes they will...how did the JV's end???

Recap and stats of the JV game are at the bottom of the post I linked to. But GlenOak was up like 50-35 with 1:29 left Louisville scored 8 straight to make it 50-43 before the game ended. So GlenOak handled our JV pretty well.

In fairness to the referee (and I was sitting pretty darn close), it was a chirp on the whistle that some heard and some didn't (both on the court and off) as he was trying to get the whistle out of his mouth to (imho) check on the player at his feet. It came through clearer on the video than I thought it would (and I did hear the whistle at the time) but it was just an odd circumstance/situation. Either way, I agree with Louisville fans at least he should have called inadvertant whistle/jumpball/etc. I guess the 'good' side was the score wasn't real close at that moment and didn't get close enough for that play to really matter.

chocolatecity, I tried to tell people GO's not as 'down and out' as people think. Maybe they'll start believing us now. Scary part about today, GlenOak shot I'd guess around 25-30% from the field. If they make even the lay-ups/bunnies they missed, it's a different outcome. Credit to Louisville for having a poorly played game and still finding a way to win. Good teams do that. Credit also to Coach Ross and the Lady Eagles. They outworked and outplayed the Leps through most of the game today.

That's how I'd describe the whistle as well. I'm just posting to make sure it never happens again, because that would be horrible if it were to decide a tournament game or a game that had league championship implications.

LN, what part of it was inadvertant do you not understand? It's not like he thought 'let me blow my whistle and act like it didn't happen and see how it goes'. This kind of stuff happens... it's a rare incident but things happen that are outside the typical flow and rules of the game. This video won't change the chances of it happening again either. It didn't affect the game, no one got hurt, it's all good.

I disagree if any referees are on here and see this then if it happens to them then they will know what to do now: Call the play dead. Its true it didn't effect the outcome, but a whistle is a whistle, when the whistle blows your supposed to stop playing. Our girls did, GlenOak didn't, we got punished, they were rewarded. That is not correct and I'm more than happy to spread the news to stop further injustices no matter who is playing.
