I just read that Kirby Smart's dad died after having hip surgery from a fall after the Sugar Bowl. WOW. Very tragic and prayers for him and his family. Just another reminder that NONE of us are promised tomorrow.

Did the surgery go bad or something? I've read that when an elderly person falls and breaks a hip a high percentage pass away within 6 months or so. This seemed awful quick unless there was also a head injury or something.

Heard he died from complications from the hip surgery. Sad

Saw this earlier. Extraordinarily sad.

Very sad. Actually the accident happened right before the Georgia/ND game, but the death came a few days after that game, from complications of the surgery.
