This rule is for when the opponent turns the move into an illegal hold/manever.
Thanks for pointing that out, but I believe it says that in the third line. I do believe I copied it verbatim from the NFHS rule book, and I do see the word opponent used in that third line.
That was my response to CoachHoversten writing “when arm slips out it is illegal , not potentially dangerous”.
I don’t know him personally, but I think he is talking about the OPPONENTS arm slipping out of something like a headlock. I could be wrong on that. If that is what he meant, the
OPPONENT’s actions have turned a legal move into an illegal move and is covered by
rule 7.2 Article 6. If the match is stopped, the potentially dangerous and not the illegal signal is given by the official.
If he meant something different, please let me know.
