Job Openings

Sounds like Walnut Hills hired their assistant.

Jerrick Valentine. Believe he coaches club at Lakota FC, played in college based on some quick research.

I dont see a post by athletics anywhere, but I know some of the girls were told.

These schools feel like their is zero sense of urgency to hire coaches. West Clermont has been open since like early January?

Waynesville hires their current asst as well.
Just because they haven't hired doesn't mean there is zero sense of urgency. Have you talked to schools about the processes?

It's not a fun spot to be in right now. Not a lot of candidates out there. Not a lot of quality candidates out there. No sense in being urgent if they can and should wait to see if someone comes along.

Are you an AD ? Feel like I hit a nerve here. Lets be real, girls soccer is never a urgent hiring process at schools.

Some of these schools waited weeks to even post the job and then another few weeks before they began interviewing.

If it was football job would be posted same day and new person hired within 1-3 weeks.

No, but I have worked in athletics for nearly two decades -- including helping my AD friends find coaches. No nerve hit. Just reality.

Same happens in college athletics. Numerous schools have a hard time finding the right candidate. A lot goes into it and they have to try to get it right, for a variety of reasons. It makes sense. And, trickle down to HS, it makes tons of sense with the lack of pay and increased demands/pressures/issues/etc. make these jobs not so desirable.

Soccer isn't football, and shouldn't be viewed anywhere near the same scope. We all know this. I don't like it either, but it's reality.
