Jarrel Miller St Eds

I would think that being at St Eds you would have all kinds of extra help with your studies.
Private schools don’t have close to the resources that public schools have when it comes to assisting students with learning. He might have had assistance making sure he was eligible 😉, but they don’t have the support staff usually due to funding. He will be fine in the long run, he’s super talented.

Not being petty, I legit would think that schools like Eds would be preparing their students for the next level. Aren’t they a specialized college prep school as opposed to a school like Aurora? I don’t knock him at all for going this route. Whatever helps him out, and he gets an education along the way. I think you need to chill out Eastside Cats. Not all of us are all knowing like yourself and your private education.

exactly, could be a new trend with roster limitations. get more development and in part even get all the pre-req classes done. who knows. but this isnt the first athlete to take this rout.
If you were already on a team or offered a scholarship as a 2025 you are a Designated Student Athlete for any schools that opt into the revenue sharing and will not count against the roster cap while in college.

I could be dead wrong on this, but my gut tells me it's not related to grades. I was thinking more like what TBND stated above.

They do help to prepare you but they aren't going to hold your hand. I got the lowest GPA at St Ed versus undergrad and grad school. Also goes to show they aren't just giving good athletes straight A's.

The one thing I know is that I know nothing.

Didn’t know about the new JUCO rules. How could you not want to go that route? Keep your eligibility, and develop like TBND stated.

Griz you are dead wrong. St. Ed's is known for helping keep with special needs or those who may require extra help. That statement is completely false. What Miller and Iowa decide is between them. I love how people jump on an 18 year old kid.

The kid has to want it. Eds does prepare kids for college and prepares them well. Look at the curriculum. However, every kid doesn't want it. I don't know if that's his situation but it goes both ways.

Probably should have just went to class. It's not a secret what Ed's was doing for "certain" athletes. Not even surprised.

Yeah, ok. You're just being naive. Just ask someone, anyone around the program. They can shed some light. You go to Ed's and your a prop 48? I am sure that happens ALL the time.

Nothing, that's the problem. They should have addressed it the first time.
And how do you know they didn't address it?

Certain athletes in that wrestling room also make it to Ivy league schools. You are painting a whole program with rumor, innuendo, and hearsay. Sad day when Iggy guy defends the Eagles.
A week ago a friend of mine sent me this spreadsheet of all the Eds wrestlers who wrestled in college. It’s honestly remarkable, and you’re right about the Ivy League schools.

My favorite is that lone Princeton grad. Eds wrestling is an educational factory churning out students. Do some kids struggle after HS, sure we all do as we mature into adults. In summation if my son is a talented wrestler and has aspirations to wrestle in college; then I am sending him to Eds if I live North of I70 in Ohio.

Go Cats thank God I have a hockey player so Eds wasnt really 1st choice. AMDG

Hey there St. Eds friends. Ed's is obviously a great academic school, and as you remind us frequently- you have a long and unmatched standard of success in wrestling in Ohio and nationally and a strong culture, alumni network and system to keep the train going indefinitely. What you need perhaps is thicker skin and understand that you don't have to defend yourself against idiots and/or good natured trolling. Hats off to you, you're the best, we get it!

I know Ed’s is a sports powerhouse, but I don’t think it’s ever been referred to as an academic powerhouse. A good school yes, a great sports school! Now I know u will certainly have some very smart kids that will attend Ivy League, but you will also have great athletes that can’t get out of their own way too.
