What does YOURS 2022 Division VI Top Twenty - Five Look Like????

:):cool::banana::giggle::unsure:

This is IUDOGS signing off.

I think Anna would beat Arcanum. I think Tri Village might beat Anna this year. As for many of the other team, IDK.

This is not my list, rather, this is how CalPreps has Division VI ranked as of today. I take this with a grain of salt as almost all other posters do, but I am interested in how others view these rankings...

I'd put Marion Local and Kirtland in the top two spots also heading into a new season. They are the most reliable to return to the top year after year.

Agree about the reliability of these two teams but ML needs to find a QB, Seitz needs to stay healthy and one of the Flyers top play maker may not play football, lot of question marks.

Has this ever happened before involving three state champions from the prior year, all in the same division?
Versailles D5
Carey D6
MSML D7
Surprisingly, yes! The 2002 State Champions from Division II (Chaminade-Julienne), Division III (Bishop Watterson), and Division IV (Kenton) all met together in Division III for the 2003 season.

Ironically, none of those three won the state title that year…that distinction belongs to Benedictine who defeated Kenton in a low-scoring 12-0 slugfest to win it all.

Kenton, however, did defeat Bishop Watterson in the Region 10 title game that year, and Chaminade-Julienne ended up bowing out in the opening round.

Looking at this year, barring something unforeseen taking place, I do expect Versailles, Carey, & Marion Local all to make deep playoff runs.

I'd have my West Jeff 'Riders a little higher, simply because we're again not in a region with MAC schools. Makes it a little more of a chance to get to the Final Four.....where, of course, it would end yet again against a MAC school.

There's no doubt in my mind that West Jeff would have had 2 (98, 08), maybe 3, more playoff titles but for Versailles, MSML, and Coldwater. I say this because in the years I'm thinking about, we gave the MAC opponent a good game for the most part, closer on paper at least than any of their other playoff opponents. That is an absolutely amazing conference.

I think that Labrae is rated a little too high and Brookfield is rated too low.
Agreed. LaBrae lost A LOT on offense, and to their secondary. Not to mention their head coach jumped ship to Western reserve.

Brookfield's first three games will be tough, but I think their toughest conference opponent would be garrettsville???

That would be correct. Garfield and/or Crestview will be the toughest conference game

West Jefferson lost 25 Srs. They are not going to win the region.

Kaponk - You also predicted West Jefferson would not win last seasons Region 23 Final. Is West Jeff a favorite in Region 23 for 2022? Absolutely not. Is West Jeff a contender for Region 23 in 2022? Absolutely.

Region 23 is by no means a meat grinder. The winner of Region 23 will be a big underdog to the favorites of Div VI, Marion Local or Kirtland.
