Be nice to keep the rivalry going in some sort of fashion even if Hubbard wins every year. They’ll always get points and it should prepare Brookfield for anyone else on their schedule
I don't know, Hubbard already has Howland on a long term basis. The Hubbard faithful have moved on from this rivalry years ago. But I do give Brookfield kudos, they brought a nice size fan base last night, I was impressed.

I get that, just would be better then playing teams like east or a pa school is all I’m saying

I get what you're saying but as I've stated in prior posts there was close to 4000 at that game in a 5000 seat stadium. Brookfield I'm guessing seats around 2000, I saw their stadium, it's going to be really nice but how is Brookfield going to do it, it's not built for that large of a crowd even if it was 3000 instead of 4000. Best case scenario is to play it at Hubbard with monetary compensation to Brookfield. I can understand if the Brookfield following would not like that, and quite frankly I couldn't blame them at all. Anyway, it's up to the Brookfield AD for week #1 next year, plus Hubbard did them a favor and Hubbard will end up with only 4 home games at The Beautiful next year because of Brookfield's problem of their stadium not being completed on time. That's also not fair to the Hubbard faithful as well. So, in my opinion, and only my opinion, either play it next year at The Beautiful, or cancel the game altogether and move on, this is totally up to the Brookfield AD, they're the ones that approached Hubbard and wanted them for their inauguration game in their brand new stadium.

It'll be quite interesting to see how Brookfield ends up solving that seating problem if the game is actually played. If they end up cancelling next year's game it would be better to do it sooner rather than later so both teams have more time to find other opponents.

Hey, it's only my opinion for whatever that's worth...

It would be nice if that Brookfield poster would respond, he seemed like he knew quite a lot about their new stadium.

Seems like they’re in financial trouble big time over there, what they’ll do is anything to make some money lol

I agree with that, but it'll be interesting to see what the Brookfield AD is going to do between now and the start of next season, it's going to be his call, it's all on him and maybe a little on their coach as well. Yes, you're right, it's going to come down to money, either play the game next year or move on. Their inaugural football opener will actually be taking place on week #3. Hopefully the stadium will be operational by then, they only play 4 home games this season now, I wish them well and good luck.

@HubCapper they won’t. No different than what we went through in the TAC8 for years. Games in champion, newtonfalls, even Lakeview. We used to have more Hubbard fans on their home side than they did. Aside from seating issue I’m good with the game. It’s an old rivalry.

I get your point sportster, but every team you have mentioned is a lot larger than Brookfield's stadium. Hey, it's a 2 year deal, we'll see how they handle it in week #1 of next year with them already knowing what's coming over to their place.

All about correct, the away side does seat more than 250 closer to 500 officially. The press box you see is on the away side is only gonna be for the visitor coaches and staff and what not. They are putting up a much larger one on the home side for the home coaches, media and announcers and what not. Guessing portable band bleachers may have to be brought in for you guys (only team on our schedule with that big of a band and fan base). Everything you see up there is new oR 1-2 years old from the old stadium (lights, band bleachers, and scoreboard)
I found the Brookfield poster's description of their new stadium, he seems pretty knowledgeable.

Just responding to HubCapper. The stadium should be ready to roll for week 3 against VCS. Just waiting on the home press box. For this season home side is gonna be 1500 and away will be 500. This actually will seat a 100 more than the old stadium officially. For next season though more away bleachers are going to be added to bring the away side up to closer to 750, but that number is unofficial. For next season as well there will be a parking lot behind the away bleachers to accommodate more parking. This season was getting the bones of the facility up and running similar to how South Range did it a few years back. By this time next year what is expected to be finished with the whole complex are the additions I stated above, a complete brick entrance way and ticket booths, a baseball and a softball field behind the home side in the two open fields there and a concession stand/restrooms that will service all 3.

Thank you,
Sounds like turf will be 2-3 years down the road, everything takes time...and money.

To be fair, Hubbard came to Brookfield for years and it was not a problem and at the end of the TAC8 the difference in school size was just as big. If the game is truly going to survive it can’t just be played at Hubbard. If anything Hubbard people should enjoy coming to this place a hell of a lot more than Addison. Being a Brookfield person, I’m the first to say it was a dump, mind you it was our dump and we loved it and will always love it and the memories there, but a dump nonetheless. Whether the game can continue to be played every year is a completely different conversation. If both schools and communities want the rivalry to continue it needs to basically be agreed upon that it will be played every year week 1 no matter what. No cancelling it being scared of the result from either school, meaning no ducking a butt-kicking or ducking the possibility of a loss. A perfect example of a long standing rivalry continuing no matter what involves 2 teams from our conferences, South Range and Springfield Local. Used to be in the same league, school sizes changed and both left their league for greener pastures but the game and rivalry remains. Our game hasn’t been played consistently for 15 years and hasn’t been played altogether since 2013, but the response from both teams, communities, and schools shows that the game still has a place and should be played yearly.

That's not up to you and me or even both communities, it's up to the two ADs and probably their coaches, it's supposed to be a two year deal as of now. I think it actually means more to Brookfield than Hubbard since they approached Hubbard. In my opinion, this was all about your first home game inaugurating your brand new stadium, I get it and certainly understand it.

I liked going to Brookfield and go to their concession stand to buy their elephant ears. They were outstanding, do they still make them?

Yes they do

For what it's worth:
If I'm not mistaken, years back, Wilmington's AD lived in Hubbard and they tried to schedule each other, but their schedules always conflicted on their open dates for both schools.
