Hockey Equipment in Cincy

Anybody have any suggestions on brands for gear or stores that carry gear near Cincinnati? My 5 yr old has started hockey but is the first in the family to do so. I dont know anything about the sport including gear and I would like to learn as much as I can about what brands are good and what features I should be looking for. I dont want to buy something solely because its the most expensive nor do to be cheap and sacrifice his safety. I have been to Play it Again for skates and stick but dont want to be limited to what they have if I should be looking at something else. Of course the internet is great but he cant try the stuff on.

Any help is appreciated.

See tommy at the pro shop at northland. Or, if your son plays for caha, they have complete sets of gear you can rent very cheaply until your sure he is sticking with it.
 
Play It Again Sports. They have a lot of new and used stuff. Also they have a former NHL player who works at their Kings Automall location so obviously he's very knowledgeable on the sport.
