Hilliard Darby

Anyone think Redman at 190 has a chance to make it out
Yes, but he will have to beat someone ranked ahead of him. Borofan has 7 ranked and 2 HM from Darby in his ranking.

#35 Redman prob got the best draw he could hope for. Was good he went to same sectional as #1 McDanal and #4 Quillin. Can he beat #31 Mitchell (Coff)? Have they wrestled this year?

If he beats Mitchell and gets to semi final and loses......I see a blood round match with winner of #18 Lawrence (HDav) and #19 Segar (Mary).
If he loses in the quarter i see a blood round match with #17 Hoffman (Lan)

That is going by the rankings.....which we know rarely plays out.

Probably looking most forward to McDanel vs. Quillin
I don't see McDanel losing but could be competitive as Quillin has gotten better throughout the year. He has really good wins against D2 #2 Snider (CVCA), D1 #5 Johnson and lost at the last second to D1 #3 Grimm. A potential state final match-up that won't be a cake walk.

It's also why I disagree with ITC predicting McDanel to be the lock to win his weight class in the central district, which is kind of disrespectful to Quillin. Ayoub is the biggest lock to win at 138, as there is nobody near his level at 138 in this district, with the predicted #2 being ranked #22 in state, and Ayoub pinned him in their dual meet this season. Would be shocked if he doesn't tech fall and pin his way to a title.

The #ProveUsWrong campaign is underway!

Aside from the kid and his parents, I don't think you'll find two happier individuals than ITC if a kid proves us wrong. It has happened every year since we started doing the WhiteBoard Predictions, and will happen again this year. Just last year, @Lil’ Niemann (my own son!) was NOT selected to be a state qualifier. ...but guess who punched his ticket???

ps: ZERO disrespect in our hearts. Just doing something for the D-I Darby District and its fans. #NoHate #MuchLove

Quillin did not contest the match last week at sectional.
McDanal is on a completely different level. Quillin has improved big time and got stronger, but McDanal is the real deal.
I'm hoping Quillin gives McDanel a run. Overall, this district isn't as strong as Hoover or Perrysburg so there aren't many top 5 matchups to choose from in terms of anticipation.

I don't believe it's personal or that there is any hate or malice. My statement that it's somewhat disrespectful is based on it being a poor prediction. Just banter and giving opposition, just like any sports debate show.

Both Ayoub (#10) and McDanel (#7) are top 10 nationally ranked wrestlers in their weight class (According to Flo).

Quillin beat a national ranked caliber wrestler in Myles Johnson (#10) and is a potential state finalist matchup. Where as the #2 138 isn't projected to win a match at the state tournament. There is greater distance in competition between Ayoub and the field at 138 than McDanel and Quillin. To say that Ayoub is just a "strong favorite" at 138 is a huge understatement.

It's no different than last year's prediction of choosing Shumate to be a lock over McDanel, when McDanel was a nationally ranked wrestler. There was a bigger gap in competition at 132 with Wilson and 157 with Euton.

Day 2
#WriteYourStory

INVICTUS
By William Ernest Henley

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
