Head Baseball Job Openings?

I saw a Twitter post that Covington's coach stepped down. Spent 18 years in the program.
Bummer. Andy and his predecessor were good dudes. Covington athletics have been in decline for awhile sadly. Tough place for baseball when basketball and football still remain king and by the spring it's a tough one.

Looks like he went out on a good note according to their Twitter. Best record and stats they've had in a while, and their first Sectional title in ten years. A friend from there said the baseball team has won more games the last four years than football and basketball combined. Their big money making sports have definitely taken a hit recently.

That is the impression I got when I talked to him. There was something going there, I hope it can remain in the right direction. BBK and FB have been terrible the last few years. Sad, really.

Really? Where is he going
Non-renewed from teaching position two weeks before season ended and non-renewed the day after district final loss as baseball coach.

Heard there was mid-season investigations into player treatment and language, along with tampering of investigation.
  • Heard he caught wind of the investigation and tried dictating to players what to say and not what to say to admin via text..... players shared those texts with the admin....

Not saying yay or nay but all supplemental contracts are non-renewed yearly and it generally occurs in May. So this may have been timed to be effective upon the conclusion of the season UNLESS they non-renewed in May, renewed him for the following year (which is usually the case for people they want to come back), and then all this happened and they decided against it and voted again. However in that case procedurally it would not be a non-renewal it would be a dismissal as that is pretty much the only path in situations like this.

Hearing any names for the London position?

Parents are soft, that’s the real problem.
Do you know what was said to the player? I assume you and others do. While few will debate players and parents aren’t as mentally tough as they used to be, it’s entirely possible a coach, teacher or adult working with kids can be in the wrong. What is rumored to have been said and transpired after would’ve been met with a similar response 30-40 years ago. With that said, I think people can learn from their mistakes and should be given second chances if they acknowledge their mistakes and grow from them.
