That's been around for years. I've mentioned it before, lots of inside information about the programs get shared in those chats. I keep saying sooner or later one of these kids is going to show the wrong person and some of these coaches are going to be feeling some heat.
I’m shocked that hasn’t happened yet dealing with high school kids.

Who needs to wait for the kids to do that when coaches turn other coaches in...

Most kids don't want to be the snitch or get a buddy in trouble. I always assumed it will be a parent that will do it. I have seen some messages and obviously the OP of the topic has too. So how many others have?

Fairmont going to beat Springfield for the 4th straight time in the regular season ?

They’re loaded , and much bigger than they typically are . Miller has built that program into a year after year contender ag the top of the league . The big difference is he’s keeping kids in the program that we’re transferring and now alter kids are transferring into the program. Better watch out for that 3 headed monster in the back field , all three been playing since their freshman year . Their junior year should be scary. Freshman quarterback , now sophomore can flat out sling it and faster then baker was . They’re in good hands in Kettering .

Good luck to everyone , should be another great year from the Gwoc !

I’m taking Wayne and Fairmont at the top of the league this year , I see Springfield being better then last year and centerville taking a step back and coming back down to earth .
My 2 cents

Thanks

Thx for the info from the chat room. It's the high school transfer portal in action. There are still a few months left for the player to change his mind again. -smh-

Has anyone confirmed transferred in or out of GWOC? I’ve been close with @User Error throughout the offseason, he has only heard rumors nothing concrete, but he’s not from there so he may not know.

Nowhere. He’s had the option to play at the prep level, he’s declined it, in his own words “Wayne is home”. Plus he’s reached out to me (a photographer) about coming to some of his games this season, so would be shocked if he leaves.
Brown transfering has been shut down since last season, to my knowledge. I haven't heard any news on my end, but please do enlighten me if there is.

Who is projected at QB for Wayne? I was hopeful that Wayne would have made a coaching change by now but sadly, no change. I have been on a break from attending games since 2019 but I think it’s time to get back. I plan to attend some Wayne games and Bethel too.

I’ll see them Monday, they’ll complete in Fairborn’s 7on7 event.

Sophomore was in command, looks big and could throw it, definitely going to be some growing pains. Having the #1 WR in the nation is going to help lol, should probably stick to short passes and screens and let their WR core do the work.

Just curious, was the #1 WR at this event or at track practice getting ready to help Wayne make a run at state?

What will the Wayne levy not passing do to their football?
If the superintendent and board of education follows through on the threat to raise fees to $750 per sport with no family cap, I am sure it will impact all sports at Wayne. Instead of getting $750 per sport from each athlete, the district will lose $6,000 per athlete or whatever the state per pupil funding is because they will all leave. Paying a fee to break a lease and move is cheaper than paying that ridiculous amount for sports.

This does a good job of highlighting the fallacy of having uncapped pay to play or of eliminating sports when in a district budget crunch. Crunching athletic and extracurricular programs is a terrible idea.

If you’re in a district with high transience or in which people can be transient with ease, you are going to lose a sizable amount of enrollment and get drained of per pupil funding that dwarfs the amount of extra pay to play fees you hope to collect on paper.

Update from Wayne - the Board of Education voted last night to table cuts for the 2025-26 School Year. No change to Pay to Participate for next year. Wayne should be good in that regard for at least one more year. See what happens after that.
