A state title is always impressive. He did it at a private boarding school with an enrollment of 360 and a tuition cost of $60k+. What does that have in common with the types of kids and families he will coach and interact with at Northmont?
Oh…so now we are diminishing state championships? Are you kidding me? Do you say the same thing when a private catholic school wins one? Those kids pay tuition right? Unreal. I hope he doesn’t take the job and you guys get some bozo. Judging from the posters on here, Northmont doesn’t want to win. Enjoy the GWOC basement

Rulli did a good job at Carroll when he was there from 2014 to 2018. He got them to 6-4 before going back to Proctor Academy in New Hampshire. I would assume the biggest hang up would be his retirement years and non-head coach position at the district. He has worked in private education most of his life, so he is going to be behind on retirement into the public system. Who knows, maybe he is using Northmont as leverage at another job (isn't Carroll open again or Centerville or where he is now)

Cool to know you are a coach hiring expert. I didn't diminish his state championship. I asked an obvious question about how his experience lines up with the opening in Clayton. You seem to be taking this very personally for someone not involved at all...

Not taking it personally. Just haven’t seen anything positive from any of the Northmont posters. Anywhere! You guys just seem miserable is all.

The Ironton HC would be wild. He has built them back to a top program and I guess he wants that D1 opportunity.
If they get Pendleton that is a home run hire and a huge loss for Ironton. He’s young, played at Michigan State, and most importantly, a great recruiter. All the other area schools really better watch their players if Pendleton gets the job.

There is a guy on 70 in Springfield that would like a word about who will be recruiting players.

i asked, he said it aint him. guess its ex d2 d3 coach
Educated guess: the coach at Sidney (Taynor). He had 10+ years of D2 college head coaching experience at Urbana and another school before becoming a H.S. head coach. He coached at Graham for 2-3 years prior to taking the Sidney job.

There’s no way, if they’ve got Pendleton interviewing then I don’t see how they’d have Taynor as a choice. I think Taynor is good, but he hasn’t exactly lit the world on fire at Sidney or even when he was at Graham. Going 5-6 two years in a row at Sidney doesn’t get you the Centerville job, hell I’d think it wouldn’t even get you an interview.

Well, it’s always possible it’s a foregone conclusion that Pendleton is the best choice and Taynor (or whoever) and Puckett are moving along in the interview process because somebody predetermined a preset number of finalists.

However, you always have to have backup options…especially when looking at external choices that would be moving across the state for the job. Puckett is already employed at Centerville, and if the ex-college guy is Taynor he can be fairly easily employed at a large district such as Centerville being an intervention specialist. Pendleton is currently the AD at Ironton. He’s not going to be the AD at Centerville given they just hired a new AD, and would have to have some other type of job. Depending on what he can or can’t teach that may be an issue given that although Centerville just passed a levy, they have cut several dozen positions due to budget constraints in recent years.

if u sayin this bcuz u dont think he recruit, gtfoh :ROFLMAO: he be goin to camps to get kids, calls parents, n then when they do transfer he give them a random address so it look like they moved
I'm guessing from your response and you mentioned your kids are still playing that you have seen or know about some of this first hand. The complete refusal to believe this does not happen at Springfield by some of these guys is hilarious.

I thought that Ullery resigned as the assistant AD and Football Coach. Is that true?

If so, could Pendleton become the new assistant AD?

Little birdies at Northmont say Ben Rulli has accepted the job
Rulli back in the Miami Valley. I will be interested in seeing what systems he runs there at Northmont. When he was at Carroll he ran a pretty balanced offense with power run game and play action passing. Seem to remember 11,12, 21 personnel groupings. Not what Northmont kids are use to for sure.

Is he an offensive or defensive guy?
