I wanted to list Grace’s accomplishments in both track and cross country as runners like these don’t come around too often. She’s been fun to watch over the years. What impresses me the most is her ability to race well at all distances. She has 400 speed and 5k endurance. Will be fun to follow her through college at NC State too.

She displayed her talents on Saturday by finishing 2nd in the 1600, then coming back to win the 3200 (undefeated at state in her career), then anchored the Oakwood 4x4 team to a 3rd place finish by edging out another runner at the very end. I clocked her at a 59.1 in her anchor leg and would imagine she would be quite a few tenths faster running fresh. Also clocked her at a 2:08.5 on her anchor leg in the 4x8 on Friday. She brought the Oakwood team their 2nd track and field championship in a row.

Is Grace running at one of the three national meets in two weeks: New Balance, Nike, and Adidas
Based on her own comments in a post-meet interview from Saturday, no. She said the season took its toll on her with various nagging issues such as allergies, so she'll skip the national meet, rest up, and begin preparing for NC State.

Her coach said the same thing. She was going to do the mideast championships but Ohio is not participating for some reason. Coach said she didn't want to train for two more weeks as she's trying to be 100% going into summer training.
