Former Westerville South High School coach Jason Godwin said Jan. 10 that he accepted an opportunity to become the boys lacrosse coach at Hilliard Davidson.

Godwin is replacing Anthony Kelly, who stepped down in October to become an assistant coach at Harvard University. In three seasons at Davidson, Kelly went 16-30.

Davidson was 0-15 last season as the Wildcats entered the season without 14 players, seven of whom graduated.

Godwin, a 1996 Worthington Kilbourne graduate, led South to a 27-25 record in three seasons, including a best 15-3 record in 2005. Last year South finished 7-11.

Former Olentangy offensive coordinator Michael Kinney will take over at South. Kinney was also an assistant at Dublin Scioto, a school that has won three state championships.
