Consumerman will have DLS beating SLC 56-0 or something.

And SLCDad will say "They're loaded with sophomores."

And Consumerman will say "THEY'RE PLASTIC!"

Good stuff. Start off w/an old Oilers uniform adn you should be close. The helmet was just a horse I think. JUst make Eric Gray 3x bigger than anyone else.

That blue is always good.

Maybe I'll do the 1989 title game -- Permian vs. Aldine.

I mean, if I were into this sort of thing.

I'd rather have a redo of the '90 game, with a healthy Walters of course. I have that game on tape somewhere.

Check out number 1.

I'm not saying I still have the game.

On the other hand, I'm not saying I don't.

You can schedule and play your own Herbie.

Pied, I might need a picture of Aldine. That's all I'm saying.

I saw my first electric football game at a friend's house circa 1967 or 1968. It was the generic Tudor version with yellow and white players. I asked for one for Xmas. They had a medium sized box (too small to be an electric football game) and a small box (I also asked for a watch). I opened the medium size box and hidden in the corner was a watch. I said to myself well what is in the small box. I opened the small box and there were two painted electric football teams without bases, turns out they were the Browns in white and the Giants in Blue. To me it was 100x better than any generic yellow and white team electric football game. They then pulled the rest of the game out and I set up my first game.

After a kickoff (out of the stadium) I set up my first play, a pass to Homer Jones, He caught it and went 80 yards for a TD. Wow. I bought about 12-16 teams but back then you could only buy the AFL in dark uniforms. I still have somewhere 1 1968 era Pittsburgh Steeler with the yellow ring around the neck.

My brother and I used to set up the game board with a big cardboard screen in between us so we couldnt see whatthe other was doing pre-snap. Our cat used to watch it and swipe at the players like they were mice.

Fast forward to 1989. I decided to buy my nephew an electric football game for Xmas. I was horrified to find out they were no longer available and Tudor went out of business, due to electronic type games.

Now we go to 1994 and I am selected for jury duty. During my lunch I bought a USA Today paper and in the SPorts Section was an article on electric football and it was now available again from a company called Miggle Toys. I wasn;t listening to the court proceedings all afternoon but rereading the article and dreaming of buying it again.

I finally found you could buy it from JC Penney catalog and ordered it. I t came without a color box but just a plain brown shipping box. I called Miggle and spoke one on one with the new president. He sent me a color game box.

Now go to 1998 and I am flying on a plane (from Ohio!!!) and see an ad in a magazine for EBAY. I joined EBAY and one of the first things I bought was a vintage Browns vs. Giants Tudor #620 game. I also bought a Colts-Jets rare Super Bowl version (since sold).

Electric Football was my favorite toy as a kid.

Miggle Toys no longer has a license to sell NFL teams. But I was in JC Penney or Macys yesterday and they had a new company electric football game - they said it was with NFL teams. Looked a little small. I did not buy it (yet).

Those electronic games are awesome but the game that ruled my childhood was VCR Quarterback! I used to play that game for hours every day. To this day it's probably the greatest christmas present I ever got.
