 No, Brady must live so I can see his misery. BTW, Eli Manning is a prophet. Remember what he said before the season started.

Most of the time I root for the AFC but since the Patriots are one of the teams I don't particularly like let's go Giants.

So after Brady goes 3-0 in his first 3 Super Bowls, if Eli beats him again, does some of the Brady "mystique" wear off?

I kinda think it does, a bit, if he loses back to back to Eli.

It will kind of show that the great Tom Brady isn't Superman, or if he is, Eli is his Kryptonite.

He comes out of the blocks like gangbusters winning 3 in a row and then he can't get the job done. Kind of taints the whole Patriot dynasty.

Doesn't mean he isn't a great QB...just means he's not the invincible icon that he's been made out to be.

The Patriot "dynasty" ended in 2008 when they lost their first SB and then Brady missed an entire season, followed by Harrison, Vrabel, Bruschi and others leaving.

I don't think it's him not getting the job done. The team itself just isn't as good as it was seven years ago. Montana won a couple Super Bowls and had some bad postseason experiences before winning two more. If they can get a better defense and put some more talent around him, they can win another one before Bill/Brady retire.

I don't really think it would harm his legacy much, but obviously it would prevent it from growing with a 4th SB. Also, it would definitely make Eli his 'Kryptonite.'

Basically I'd say his reputation/legacy will not be harmed if they lose, but it has the potential to almost solidify him as one of the two best QB's of all time in terms of the career he's had if they win. So he has a lot to lose by not winning, but not much to lose by losing if that makes any sense at all.

It only matters if Eli wins another one after this and maybe goes to one or 2 more. Then you can't really say Brady is better than Eli if Eli beat him twice head-to-head, won just as many overall and went to about as many. Until that happens, Brady goes down has one of the top 2 or 3 most successful QBs in the Super Bowl era for tying the record for most Super Bowl appearances (5) and being tied for 3rd for most rings (3). I personally would rank him as the 2nd most successful QB in the Super Bowl era behind Montana if he loses on Sunday.

No I think that makes perfect sense and I agree.

Agree with all of you. Now, had the Pats lost another first-round game like they had the previous two seasons, I think that would have hurt the legacy a bit, especially getting beat at home to Tim Tebow.

The Pats cut Tiquan Underwood today. That's just cold

There HAS to be more to the story of Undewood getting cut on the eve of the Super Bowl.

Nobody could be that ruthless and cold.

Does anyone know if this guy will still get his Super Bowl pay? My understanding is that SB winners take home $88,000 and losers get $44,000. Even by Pro standards that's not chump change and did Belipuke just take this amount of cash out of Underwood's wallet?

Like I said, there has to be more to this as I'm not buying the "official" story that the Pats needed another D-lineman today!

I'm pretty sure Underwood was told that he'd be compensated as a member of the Super Bowl roster, both with money and a ring if they win.

Bill is awesome. I hope he rocks his cut-off hoodie tonight. Rick Reilly tweeted last week:

"Belichick smiled today at his press conference, breaking his previous season record of zero."
