General NFL Chat

Vrabel fired by Titans.
Not a good day but from a timing standpoint for the franchise, it may be. Henry is likely gone, you've got a young, unproven QB in Will Levis, the team is kind of in flux so a rebuild is going to happen. My guess is the Titans follow the NFL and hire one of these young offensive minds.

Will OSU fans will be clamoring for the school to fire Day and hire Vrabel?
I just can't see Vrabel wanting anything to do with college sports. I mean the recruiting, the NIL now and all the crap. Plus at Ohio State, you have zero space. It's win a national championship or the season's a failure.

The owners comments sure seem to point in this direction, I would not be surprised if an Ivy League diploma means more than anything else during the hiring process.

Not necessarily winning a national champion, but beating Michigan is the kicker.

Thank f**king God Vrabel is gone. Dude was a dumb clown. As a Titans fan I might actually start watching this team again now
If I were a Titans fan I'd be more upset that owner/management did not try to trade Vrable for some draft picks or something. He will be the most in-demand coach in the market. Probably will have his pick of the openings as a free agent.

Good for him, he’s a terrible coach so those GMs expecting success are going to be in for a rude awakening.

I guess when you trade a coach like that, he can refuse where you want to send him.

So he's better off as a free agent, and the team is better off, since they have a few more weeks to work with to sign who they want.

Chance that Steelers-Bills game may be moved to Cleveland. Weather.
I was just going to reply that the nasty weather in Buffalo may even the playing field in the Steeler- Bills game. If the weather is bad I think the games a toss up and I’d certainly be surprised if it’s a 10 point spread.

They are saying zero degrees with wind gust up to 50 mph.

Hope Harris is healthy & ready to go.

Sunday's NFL wildcard game between the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers could be moved to Cleveland if lake effect weather prompts a state of emergency to be declared in Western New York.

On Thursday afternoon, the National Weather Service issued a winter storm watchfor much of Western New York, including Orchard Park where the Bills play their home games.

It is in effect from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning and states over seven inches of snow are possible over the weekend, with winds possibly reaching 60mph.

And wind chill below 0 at KC Sat. night this is what makes the NFL playoffs great homefield advantage.

The biggest questions of the weekend is: Will Taylor Swift be wearing real fur or fake fur and how many close-ups of her will Peacock get?

I don‘t think when the weather is that miserable it’s necessarily an advantage for anyone. I mean I know that KC is playing Miami but the players on both teams come from all over the US. Many from the south, California, Hawaii who are not necessarily use to extreme weather. I think the cold weather home team being use to it and therefore advantaged is overblown. No one likes playing a game when you can’t feel your toes. JMO

I agree - lots of the players grew up in FLA, TX, CA. I think it is more about the teams style of play being impacted. Finesse / passing / speed teams hurt more by the inclement weather. We know Mahomes has thrown a lot of cold weather passes, and Kelce can catch them. Tua and Tyreke/Waddle, not so much...

Ask the Chargers if the weather wasn't a factor when they played the Bengals in the Ice Bowl. Tony Dungy on tv was just talking about what a huge advantage it is (the weather). https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...weather-situation-theyll-face-in-kansas-city/

Didn’t say it wasn’t a factor. Actually just the opposite. No one was prepared for the cold of the ice bowl game. Someone had to win. The Bengals were the better team. If they played in 70 degree weather that day the outcome would have been the same. So you think either of the cold climate teams..Bills v Steelers has an advantage? Bills are the better team they likely win. The cold may effect some ball handling and passing but it’s the same “cold” for both teams.

I am taking chiefs by whatever the line is, is what I am saying ( dolphins have dropped 10 straight with temp. below 40 by an avg. of 17 pts.). Bills - stealers the weather isn't a factor both cold weather teams may actually benefit the stealers and their inept offense, could be a low scoring game.

I think the poor weather conditions helps even the playing field a bit for the Steelers. The excessive winds makes the Bills passing attract w/ Allen less effective. Unfortunately for the Steelers Allen may be the most effective runner on the field Sunday. Still, the weather closes the gap between the two teams. I think the game the Bills plays vs NE a few years ago in extreme wind helps them for this week.

It’s Steelers not stealers….or are you bitter about Pittsburgh hanging 2 L’s on your Bengals this year.
