General NFL Chat

Refering to the Chiefs game ot to this San Fran game? This San Fran game was the first time in a long time I felt joy watching a game that didn't have a team of interest to me. As soon as I heard "snow," I knew it wouldn't disappoint.
I just thought it was interesting that Cooper said that after the Chiefs game. My guess is that over the coming weeks Cooper is going to explode as he now understands the Bills offense and he's fully healthy.

Cooper also said he & Allen made eye contact and it looked like Allen wanted the ball so he lateraled it to Allen for the TD. Cooper said he would never had lateraled it to any other QB he has played with.

Al-Shaair suspended three games for hit on Lawrence. The notice was accompanied by this :

NFL Vice President of Football Operations Jon Runyan issued the suspension and wrote in a letter: “During your game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on December 1, with 4:20 remaining in the second quarter, you were involved in a play that the League considers unacceptable and a serious violation of the playing rules. Video shows you striking the head/neck area of Jaguars’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence after he clearly goes down in a feet-first slide...You led with your forearm and helmet and delivered a forceful blow to the head/neck area of your opponent when you had time and space to avoid such contact. After the illegal hit, you proceeded to engage in a brawl, which you escalated when you pulled an opponent down to the ground by his facemask. After the referee announced that you were disqualified for the hit and your unsportsmanlike acts, you removed your helmet and reengaged with your opponent while walking down and across the field, which started another physical confrontation near the end zone. Your lack of sportsmanship and respect for the game of football and all those who play, coach, and enjoy watching it, is troubling and does not reflect the core values of the NFL…Your continued disregard for NFL playing rules puts the health and safety of both you and your opponents in jeopardy and will not be tolerated.”

All the stuff after, well he was attacked. We've all seen worse with premeditiation and I get that he apologized and it didn't strike me lawyerly. The issue seems, this wasn't the first time.

There were very few people who even could side with him on this. I'm a little surprised that these guys, who are all in the same NFLPU don't have more restraint for things like this. You either end a guys career or harm him permenantly for life and it seems kind of silly to get a lick on a guy. Al-Shier is a multiple time defender. I remember former Bengal Vontez Burfect played on the edge quite a bit and that was back when it was more accepted. Look back at films of the 70's Dick Butkus, Jack Lambert, they INTENTIONALLY tried to hurt people and it was known. And they may no money back then. Pretty crazy.

A guy I work worth is a fan that still think the rules are applied like the 80s. He defend led this saying “he was already in the motion of tackling”. I said you can plainly see he was leading with his forearm. He just waved me off. He also confuses high school and nfl rules. I really can’t believe an offensive player wouldn’t try and take him out the first game he is back.

Hope it’s nothing serious for Herbert, but that was a HIT. He’s a vintage old school gun slinger and I like watching him play, bummer he and Burrow are both a bit injury prone.

Burrow has never had a respectable line, he’s probably the most sacked guy. He’s pretty durable

Are you sacked alot because you hold on the ball too long? That's part of the position, not taking losses.

Both are certainly factors. Burrow is particularly outspoken about holding on to it as long as he can/needs to on third downs, which is why he takes a lot of third down sacks. He’s trying to extend the drive by any means necessary.

He’s has flat out stated that sacks on third down are overrated.

It's the only way he's going to sustain some of these drives.

They always suck.

49ers player quits in middle of game:

San Francisco 49ers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell refused to enter Thursday’s game against the Rams, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Campbell was spotted heading into the locker room during the third quarter of the 12-6 home loss. When reporters asked Shanahan about this, he replied, “He said he didn’t want to play today.”

... cornerback Charvarius Ward told reporters in the locker room.

“It definitely hurt the team because of course Dee [Winters] went down and we needed a linebacker, you know? And I think [Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles] was banged up too. So for him to do that, that’s some sucker stuff to me, in my opinion. He’s probably going to get cut soon, so, you know, it is what it is with that.”

An end of an era.

If ya listened to Hansons signature line just now on red zone it is now.....'7 hours of.redzone football' and no longer 7 hrs of commercial free....

Last week they started split screen commercials. First one o thought they just didn't switch games quick enough but it happened a few times and this week the NFal said they were testing it out having.comm
