Friday Finals (9/30/22)

Anyone following his football in Ohio would know what school and where it is, Garfield or garretsvilke, quit being so picky?
Um, there would be confusion in Northeast Ohio alone. To some, Garfield could mean Akron Garfield, Garrettsville Garfield, or Garfield Heights. And there used to be a Garfield in Hamilton in southwest Ohio.

Go back historically to how they've been referred to in the papers and media. It is "Garrettsville" (even though the actual name of the school is Garfield).
Consolidated school district. Those in Freedom Twp, Nelson Twp. and a part of Hiram Twp. would highly disagree that just because school has a Garrettsville address it is not Garrettsville school. That school has not existed for over 70 years. Other examples here in Portage County, no one refers to Crestwood ad Mantua or Waterloo as Atwater...just fyi

Because the element of confusion isn't there like there is in the Garrettsville example.

Then use Sebring McKinley, Niles McKinley just as they do Massey Jackson and Massillon Perry.
There are 3 Perry's and 2 Jackson's, with different meanings depending on what part of the state you're in (example: only Stark County refers to the Perry up by Mentor as "Lake County Perry"). If you ask any sample of people who follow Ohio high school football who "McKinley" is, 99.999999999% will say Canton. Also, the papers referred to others by more colloquial names as well; Amherst Steele is always "Amherst." Brecksville-Broadview Heights is always "Brecksville." Campbell Memorial is "Campbell." Chippewa used to be Doylestown, and many refer to it still as such. Garrettsville Garfield is "Garrettsville"; deal with it.

Linsly-28
Steubenville Big Red -27
Steubenville is over rated. This game proves it. Linsly ran 1 pass play all night quick slant over the middle. Steubenville couldn’t stop it when they needed to. Just a awful pass defense. They can’t stay with their own shadows. If you have a passing game you are always in the game with Steubenville. With that pass defense they showed tonight they have no shot at a state title. They haven’t be able to stop the pass for years now. Last week they all were calling for wheeling parks coaches head. How bout steubenvilles defensive back field coach or the defensive coordinator. They are lousy at what they do. Wait their probably family.
