Football 2025

No- still have a few at MSJ. This year will be “home” game heavy due to extensive travel last year. We actually only leave the state once this season and that is to Nashville. Plus travel to Ironton and st Ed’s and that’s it outside of metro Cincinnati.

I’d rather travel to Nashville or Ironton for a game, versus MSJ on a Friday night. 😁

I am pretty sure Moeller could get the fields at St Susanna, Columban, or SASEAS on Friday nights during the season. God knows it is a lot closer and they have more parking than Mt St Joe.

Why do you always have to be a jckass?
Hit a nerve huh. You need to relax. We can fun of Moeller's lack of a football stadium until they actually get one. Moeller has fumbled the ball so many times over the years on this issue. Now you all are hoping the proposed project at Blue Ash is a rescue. From the proposal I don't recall seeing any stadium seating at that place. How is that any different than the field in the back of the Moeller campus. Badin figured it out, seems like something Moeller should be able to get done.

Nothing like running your mouth, and not knowing any facts about their stadium situation. You sound like a 3 years old, as you always do.

It's a 5000 seat arena Jackass. GBM 💪 🏈

Yeah because land in Hamilton is the same as Montgomery/ Indian Hill…

That’s not an excuse. They found land for baseball, they could do the same for football
You see Princetons renovation plan to an existing stadium on existing land costs $22 million- how much do you think a brand new stadium on land anywhere near Moeller will cost? Also will need zoning permission for a stadium that holds thousands of people not a couple hundred to watch baseball game- its not a super feasible endeavor since construction costs more than doubled since 2020.

The longer they wait and make excuses the more expensive it gets.

For the young men at Moe and their opponents, I hope the Crusaders find a stadium solution. Long overdue and definitely a major financial commitment.

Agree 100%. Moeller has been kicking this can down the field for years. It shows a complete lack of leadership at the school.
Are you donating $30 million? The “excuse” is they cant afford it. A stadium would be great- but considering the success of the program without a “home” stadium- ill take that over a permanent field any day

The private Summit Park stadium plan continues to undergo revisions (including an additional field house) and is still without a timeline. This substitute for a Moeller home stadium is certainly the best option of what the past few seasons have shown they left (since they didn't choose to use the gifted land for this purpose), but the Crusaders will continue to be visitors to their home field. Council member Brian Gath says of the revisions "I’m glad to see the branding for a single school has been removed from the field. I can’t see other area schools lining up to play games on someone else’s field no matter how nice it is. I still haven’t heard who will own the stadium and who will program it. Having the right management will be a key factor to making this project successful. Most other successful stadium projects of this size have some sort of a professional team as an anchor. More needs to be known about this topic if the project rezoning is to go through."

This stadium and field house will likely be home for Cincinnati Classical Academy sports since they bought an old office building backing up to the other side of Summit Park for their new high school.

I don't think it is a money issue. It is a lack of leadership. Moeller could easily raise enough money to cover half or more of the cost and then finance the remaining. Somebody just told me CHCA built a $20MM facility behind their middle school.

Surprised this was still alive and actually may be moving forward. Last time this came up Cappell (in all his usual grouchiness) was adamantly opposed.
That guy opposes everything. That’s his schtick. He is his biggest fan and loves to grandstand. See what he does but his record shows he opposes anything stadium / sports / recreation related.

Then you would think wrong- it is absolutely a money and land issue. CHCA has an endless funnel of $ from the Lindners. The leadership at Moeller has been pretty great- significant strides in many areas of the campus and school. Not sure where your axe is coming from but you seem very uninformed and just throwing insults out there with zero knowledge

👍Various leaders at Moe over the years have attempted a permanent solution for a football stadium— to no avail.

The aforementioned Linders, refused to deal/sell with Moe on the Galbreath Field site. Not sure who is worse to conduct business with in this area, the Linders or Castellinis.

Are there plans to build anything else (soccer, lacrosse, or another baseball field) at the Bucher Athletic Complex? Was the land too small to build a football stadium and have necessary parking?

Zoning wouldn’t allow for it, but yes too small for a stadium and parking to accommodate
