Fairfield Indians LAX

No offense to the Clinton County fellas but they have a lot of room for improvement. They have a reputation for turning lacrosse into football but when we (LM) played them it didn't happen, but we really didn't give them much opportunity. A nice bunch of guys, really seemed to come out just for the love (although arguably misunderstanding) of the game. If you all played well against the Aves JV then you have a real good shot at beating CC.

Edit: This is their 2nd year, #2 is their shooter and leader on the field. If I recall #1 is also a decent player. No outstanding players that you will need to play shutdown on though...

I looked them up

I think we will neutralize #2 and stop them.... Hoping. Hopefully the weather isnt too bad Looks like upper 40s and rain.

A long drive for a scrimmage

FF beat Clinton Cty but the game became a scrimmage when no ref's showed up. It was 6-0 early and ended around 11-6. Rematch soon at FHS!
J Mo had three more goals & Nevels 2 goals.

Ff 10 - Cc 6

Scoring:
JMo - 3 - 1st Hat Trick in FF history
Nevels - 2
Ryan "Rhino" Montgomery - 1
Spence Gross - 1
Jake Shiffman - 1 also an Assest
Tom Swan - 1
Lance Hulley - 1
Assists - 2 by Connor Gross, Jake Shiffie, Cory Rosenbaum,Jd Ellerman, Jonathan Ziegler.

Taking their lumps

FHS has played two much "more experienced" teams in the past two games in Wyoming and Elder. I cannot understand why Elder substituted their "VARSITY" team in place of their JV team last night but what ever makes them feel good. The Indians took a beating twice but never quit. Keep up the hard work fellows. It will pay off.

I have been told there was an agreement between both head coaches weeks ago that it would be Elder's Varsity....you just may not have been informed..

However yes the men of FHS seem to be doing okay for their first year. lots of young guys and evident that maturing is needed however that will come with time and experience. Just make what you can this season and do the off season work.

tuesday is the home opener for the indians...lots of people have become more nad more interested in the community to see the sport and i hear the athletic director for fairfield will be in attendance

LAX recruiting!

I've personally asked a couple of the team members to do some recruiting for next yr. With the experienced MS players coming up, the solid coaching, and a few stud athletes (currently not playing baseball) making verbal commitments to play next yr. it could be even more exciting. Fairfield LAX RU READY!!!!

Not to take anything from this years squad. Great start to the program, with plenty of talented players. It can only go up from here. Hopefully the home games this week will show some "home cookin!":crush:

FF beat centerville, a fellow first year team, fairly easily saturday..morris had 3 and s. gross had 2..the indians travel to lakota east thursday

Heads up, Lakota East's goalie LOVES to roam away from the goal. When he gets the ball he will take off with it at the drop of a hat. My advice, double him and have the attackman who's farthest away cherry-pick in front of the goal. You might get an easy one that way.

All Region Team!

Number 10 = Jared Morris, SR, played Varsity at a school in Florida before moving up here as a JR when there was no team.

Number 5 = Jake Shiffman, FR, has 2 years experience and really caught onto the game. Excellent stick skills, high lax IQ.

Senior Jared Morris (10), Freshmen Jacob Morris (27), Mason Nevels (40), and Jake Shiffman (5) were all voted "Honorable Mention" on the all Region team. Congrats to all four!

1st ever regular season ends with a win!

The Indians ended their inagural season with a 6-3 win over East, and an impressive 6-8 record. Things look good with several freshmen returning and only losing 2 Senior starters. Great job players and coaches!

Next up, the State Playoffs.
