Last week of practice guys! Workin hard! New uni's this week, new sport, new energy, new attitude. R U Ready?

Can't wait till opening day on Saturday with Mason. Let the games begin.:stirthepot:

Mason teams

according to the list there is only one team in D1. I can't believe they would be playing a brand new club team? I assumed there were 2, or 3 teams with some of the more established schools. (I know St. X. has 3 or 4 squads)

I may actually be coming to that game. I live in Fairfield and have a lot of friends that got to FHS. You guys better beat Mason!

You guys are playing the JV and the bulk of them are Fr. They will be OK. That is the best way for you to get better is to play as many games as you can. Any stick time is good time....

St. X added a fifth team this year, Varsity Reserve. They have roughly 180 boys playing lax this year.

That is amazing. You have to think many of those kids could be starting at many schools. They play for the love of the game...too cool....

That is probably something Mason should do, down the line. They have a huge youth program. I think there are 4 teams of 25 at the 5/6 level alone.

Game #1 Is In The Books

The Indians took a thumpin but never quit. Great job guys. Jake Shiffman got the schools 1st ever goal and Mason Nevels and Jarred Morris also chipped in goals.

Fairfield's First Win!

The Indians beat the Sycamore Reserve squad 4-3 tonight. 2 goals by JMo, 1 each by Nevels and LilShiff. Great first ever win!

Progressing...

no mason is actually the best we have ever been this year, but Fairfield was beat 14-3 by our J.V.

Got to start somewhere!
The Indians are very young this year. 80% of the team are freshmen. Next year's crop of Freshmen will bring 5 or 6 good young "seasoned" players and combine them with this years squad. Several of the team only have two games played in their entire career. They should continue to improve. Can't wait to see some of the other "new" teams this year.

Congrats to the indians they were patient and that patience beat pedigree dont think just because it was jv it wasnt a win because it was sycamore and thats what matters

fairfield is HUGE they got some big kids # 10 played great and the defense held them late in the 4th the goal by i think #5 or 15 was very creative

fairfield has some big kids they had a dpole guy who didnt get in once and i was scared for the aves he looked 10 years older than the coach and i was shocked and a little relieved he didnt get in once his size is perfect

i coach a summer team and wouldnt mind having 4 or 5 fairfield players for me this summer

indians looked good, aves better change something around

On the goals, # 10 really seemed to be the pinnacle of that offense and really led the Indians to the win. That number 5 is listed as only a FRESHMAN and he had a very good idea and executed, I agree GoldyLax I wouldn't mind having a few of the Fairfield guys get some experience and try out for UC's club team. Hopefully by the time some of the freshman graduate UC will have a varsity program and some money available. Sycamore kept pressuring that defense and fired off a shot on every possesion. Good job to Fairfield they got the job done and that's all that matters. Defense definitely needs work, luck was on the defensive side for Fairfield.

I know what kid your talking about, although he may have been a man on a boy's team there must a be a reason a D-Pole built like that didn't get into the game.

Number 10 = Jared Morris, SR, played Varsity at a school in Florida before moving up here as a JR when there was no team.

Number 5 = Jake Shiffman, FR, has 2 years experience and really caught onto the game. Excellent stick skills, high lax IQ.

#21 (Sully) got a late start. He missed the first 6 weeks of practice and hasn't got his game legs under him as yet. A work in progress but if/when he gets on the field...could make an impact!

I'm gonna catch another FF game this season they got some pretty good players.. if they play over the summer on a competitive team they could really improve

shiffman, morris, gross, morris and kirkpatrick all impressed me for a club team ff has a good steppin stone with some roleplaying they could make a run in the club tournament

# 21 is Sullivan, he doesn't have a full beard but he's got a thick five o'clock shadow. He's the only D-Pole that didn't get in. Guy is huge, and is very very VERY proud. You can tell at practice when he doesn't get something he gets frustrated and works at it but I think that six weeks could put him back, he needs to put in some of his own time and effort and catch up because with his size he could really make that D+ defense at least a B + with his size alone and plus depth on the roster.

Ryan Montgomery is also a very good player, and I can't believe noone mentioned Mason Nevels (#40) when he and 5 were on the same line there was a lot of good chemistry.

Sometimes being proud isn't always a good thing, I saw him almost throw his stick a few times. It should be illegal for a guy that big to play club!

That starting attack line could really spread out and score on some Varsity defenses. Not the best but some, they really have speed and the Head Coach has instilled some lacrosse knowledge. They slowed the game and played at their pace and that's how the won, plus a little luck.

Morris seemed like the seasoned leader always in the right place at the right time, Shiffman was athletic and very good stick skills for a Club player, Nevels can move the ball and is a precise passer with a good shot.

The Aves will bounce back! Pedigree in the system.

Fairfield does indeed have a good shot at being a very good, competitive, club team. So many underclassmen expect FF in the future.

Expect the Aves always! Excuse me though, not allowed to be bias in my coaching profession but I was once an Aviator! I'll be keeping a special eye on the Indians for sure.
