Following-up on the post on Ohio Milesplit's page, Westerville Central junior, Elijah Harris, joins the 48-foot club in taking down Lake Catholic's Del'Mario Hairston's indoor record of 47' 6 1/2" from 2019. Harris' 2nd best jump of 47' 6 3/4" also exceeded the old record.
In cross the 48-foot barrier, Harris edges Ohio closer to national triple-jumping respectability where 50-foot jumps have been exceeded in many states for decades. He also becomes the 5th Ohio HS boy to cross 48 feet, joining four (4) boys that have done so outdoors. Here is the list of 48-footers today:

48' 9" - Arnold Grimes (Akron East) - Lake Erie AAU - 10 Jun 1972

48' 0" - Brian Kellon (Huntington Valley Univ. School) - Nike Outdoor Nationals - 18 Jun 2023
