Today is the first day of the U.S. Junior Amateur in Brandon, OR. Victor Caliguri tees off at 1:36 p.m. PDT. He will play 18 holes of stroke play today and tomorrow and try to finish in the top 64 to qualify for match play on Wednesday. Today Caliguri shot 37-36 to card a two over 73. Tomorrow he will tee off at 8:21.

This looks like a heartbreaker. Caliguri fired a one under 71 today on the second course for a two day total of 144, one over par. With golfers still out on the course, it remains to be seen if 144 advances to match play, which starts tomorrow.
Unfortunately, Caliguri's online scorecard suddenly changed: his scores from today disappeared and his line now shows "73 DQ." Whatever mistake he made (signed an incorrect scorecard?) doesn't take away from how well he played.
Here's hoping he has a great career at Eastern Michigan.

He will only improve his game! Certainly he will learn from his mistake and keep working hard at improving his game!

Sophmore Cayse Morgan entered the Golf Week Junior Hall of Fame by winning his 4th tournament yesterday ( by 8 strokes) at Harmony Landing Country Club
