EBC 2025 Thoughts, Predictions, Previews...

What are everyone's thoughts on the EBC this year? Is West Branch returning many key players? Is Carrollton a legit contender? Will Alliance lock in ANOTHER EBC title? Heck, does the EBC title mean much in baseball especially with West branch (6-4 EBC) winning it ALL last year. Records came from completed MaxPreps Profiles last year, some games were not scored.
Last Year's Finishes were:
Alliance 9-1 League 20-7 Overall Lost in District Semifinals
West Branch 6-4 League 28-6 Overall Division 2 State Champs
Carrollton 6-4 League 17-7 Overall Lost in District Semifinals
Marlington 5-5 League 10-14 Overall Lost in Sectional
Salem 4-6 League 12-11 Overall Lost in District Semifinals
Minerva 0-10 League 3-19 Overall Lost in Sectional
 
 
WB loses 5 seniors who were all significant contributors. Beau Alazaus, Hunter Shields, Aaron Tucker, Gavin Bell and Jaxon Robb.
The other five starters who are returning will be P-3B Anthony Perry, P-OF J.T. Thomas, SS Boston Mulinix, OF Maddox Coleman and DH Charlie Biskup.
Other than assuming Biskup at catcher it would be foolish to project the other positions.

It was big for Carrollton to sweep Alliance last week. Marlington will still have to play them twice. Anything is possible in this league AND especially in baseball...

It's Rivalry week and last week of League play, best baseball series left has to be the Alliance/ Marlington Series, Alliance needs to sweep the Dukes and get help from either Minerva and or West Branch vs. Carrollton to get another EBC title shot.

Marlington and Carrollton split if they win out...

Attended the WB/carrollton game tonight and was shocked to see how trashy carrollton has become. They acted like a 9yr old bush league team. Screaming during a pitchers wind-up/release. Heckling during warm ups. Hollering and banging on stuff anytime a strike was thrown. Guess this is what happens when you give trailer trash a little cash. Carrollton had 3-4 scrubs in the dug out that were clearly there just to run their mouths as they never saw the field. Carrolltons players who did play, played very well. They hit well, fielded well and their pitcher did his job. But they were overshadowed by the coaches and scrub players who acted like complete trash. I watched the WB players keep their cool throughout and I can guarantee you they were writing down names and numbers for football season. Great job carrollton you just signed your kids up for a smoke show come October.

Congratulations to Carrollton for at least winning a share of the EBC this season. I believe the first League title for the Warriors since 2000. Alliance needs a Lions upset on Carrollton's Senior night to make it a 3-peat for a title/ share. Good luck to every team in the playoffs, it's a whole new season! Remember West Branch, who won the state title last year, finished 6-4 in league standings before their incredible run.

Carrollton over Minerva last night, Carrollton Warriors your outright 2025 EBC Champs. Congratulations Coach Connelly, Staff, & Players on your first League title in 25 years.

Dang, sounds like someone is hurt. Were you the parent that was cussing at Carrollton kids and trying to come through the fence at them? “Scrub Players” ? You are talking about kids, grow up. Maybe you didn’t hear the coach was pissed after hearing one of you guys telling players to “suck his ****” in the handshake line. Congrats on your football program though. They are very good. I’m sure Carrollton is happy with their Basketball and Baseball EBC Titles

Not hurt at all. Just very surprised by Carrollton's behavior. Your coaches condone it if they don't stop it. You have such a good team let their play do the talking....correct?!? As far as the handshake line goes make sense for a head coach to get pissed, start cussing and throwing chairs over something like that.

I agree with your third sentence. My biggest problem was with your scrub players comment. They are kids and like you said “the coaches condone it if they don’t stop it” so it was unnecessary to throw shade at them.
