Thanks for answering the question

Mine is ready for download on Tuesday. Probably go Ohio St to get used the game. After that I’ll use a group of 5 school

Doing several connected online dynasties.

Two OU’s, one ‘Zona, one Illinois and one PSU.

My launch (like a big plurality of the country) is t-minus 4 hours, going to run down some thoughts/fears…

Climbing
So, I (and some friends) am a little hesitant to go dive straight into an offline dynasty. Not real sure what the best slider tuning and difficulty setting will be. It’s hard to go off of the various content creators’ experiences, since they don’t really replicate the average player anyways, but I don’t want these things to be supremely easy or Ridiculously Grind level hard. Need to find a firm middle.

Gameplay, off the L/R sticks
My understanding is CFB can possibly be ‘OP’ on passing. On Madden CFM’s with abilities equipped, I lean into some of those tendencies out of competitiveness. With this, I’m not sure if I want to get too involved with setting a bunch of depths on various routes & calling a bunch of pre-snap Hot Routes. That also applies to how I’d envision I want my defensive experience to be: not everything should be ‘broken.’

Gameplay, on the L/R sticks
So, I’m (thankfully?) on XBOX next gen. CFB on PS5 legitimately looks sweet as hell from a graphics and flow perspective, but I’m glad that I’m not playing it on PS5 because this gameplay looks like there’s some serious opportunity toward Left-Stick moves that have been a bugaboo on Madden. These things from what I’ve come to understand & experience are more easily replicable and more utilized in the PS5 domain, than it is on the XBOX side, so I’m glad that I’ll (possibly?) be spared from needledicks exploiting issues on AI coding.

Completely by coincidence I'm on vacation this week, already downloaded, so, 4pm today it will be. Likely use OSU dynasty first then go smaller

Smoother than madden in my opinion. Struggled in first game, not so much 2nd. Sawyer and secondary are pretty elite in the game

• Revamped passing isn’t the move at this point in time, jmo.

• I see that Ohio State has become the pet team for low-skill sweats that are hunting for wins in Road to the CFP (online h2h mode.) Real bad miss by EA to not have ‘inter-tier’ matchmaking as an option to opt out of, or I guess ‘select opponent tier.’

I had to temporarily go back to classic passing. I was a dumpster fire in revamped passing. For some reason Henderson is much better running than Judkins. The WR bunch is pretty dang good in the game, same with Howard. Pass protection has been sketchy at times

I’ve heard friends praise classic passing. I’m a placement & accuracy style guy.

Henderson is by far the better back to get a first down. His BCV stat at 93 is really good. Judkins ironically has way better stats across the board, like on BTK/SPM/JKM/CAR (95/93/94/98 to TreVeyon’s 88/88/91/94.)

Will Howard can be hit or miss. He actually has worse ancillary QB stats like Throw on the Run and Throw Under Pressure (86 and 83, compared to Devin Brown at 88 and 85.)

I can attest that the pass protection for tOSU isn’t great. It will require some OL adjustments in the pre-snap to get Will comfortable over the course of a game. They don’t pick up certain blitz concepts and assignments well by default.

Figured out that, indeed, you can select to pair Tier 1 vs Tier 1 in online h2h matchmaking. Doing a trial run of tOSU on it now, with the following depth chart orders…

qb1 Sayin

hb1 SWD
3DRB TreVeyon
PWHB Judkins

wr1 Jeremiah Smith
wr2/SLWR Emeka
wr3 Carnell

LT Donovan
LG Seth
C Josh Fryar
LG Hinzman
RT Tegra

RE is KJJ ; I’m not rocking with the fictional white JT

LOLB Arvell
MLB Sonny
CB3/SLCB is JMJ
FS Malik Hartford
SS Caleb

SUBLB Lathan

This should play nicer and lead to less sweaty play.

The update at the end of August will fix all the roster issues

Evidently the h2h won’t load customized depth charts (I get it), but that OL combo with Sayin at QB1 played great vs UGA user. Cumbersome to do that ring-around-the-rosey subbing/slotting in a game, so I only had it for about six different formations.

The one small bummer is you can’t change players’ fixed positions in the game. I get why, but would love some vestigial player positioning (a la Mike Vrabel/TE and Pat Ricard/DT) for dudes like Sonny Styles (e.g to get him at FS.)

Ive been trying out a lot of tier 2 teams since everybody loves the same 4 tier 1 schools and you shoot up the rankings if you beat a tier 1 while using a Tier 2. Kansas and Ole Miss are my favorite so far

Not only that but you cannot use any other playbook online head to head. You are stuck with whatever teams playbook you play with which is an absolute crime. It’s hard enough playing offense in the game but dam near impossible without my favorite plays.

In the rare event anyone’s interested in doing a Yappi connected (online) Dynasty on Xbox, let me know. Would probably end up being a once-a-week advance.

Strong disagree that offense is hard to play. The changes to the option keys have changed, which isn’t ideal, but it’s way more fluid and dangerous of a game flow on the CFB25 title compared to the last NCAA as well as the last four Maddens.
