Of the provided list, there's not really a reasonable school to play. Every school is over a two hour drive with a good number being a seven hour round trip for the away team. (Perry is just under two hours depending on maps and traffic.)
Would Mentor Lake Catholic really want to drive four hours to Maria Stein play a game and then pack up and drive another four hours home?
(I'm simply saying, it's not a simple just play better competition.)
Logistics are always an issue for sure.

I honestly don't know, what schools are in the MAC?
Anna
Coldwater
Delphs St. John's
Fort Recovery
Marion Local
Minster
New Bremen
New Knoxville
Parkway
St. Henry
Versailles

Marion Local, Delphos St John's, Parkway, New Bremen, Versailles, Minster, Ft Recovery, St Henry, Coldwater. Anna is in some, not others as they are a Shelby county school. I would actually say baseball, soccer, basketball, wrestling, cross country (boys) and golf are not exceptional sports for the MAC the way football and Volleyball and girls cross country are.

Ehh, I’d say it’s a pretty good baseball conference, with at least four schools having multiple gold trophies.

But if I give you baseball, then you are going to want basketball, and pretty soon my argument is invalid. I know how this works, giving you baseball is a very slippery slope!

I think we can all agree....football is our bread and butter and the other sports are sorta OK good.

But....this is our last hoorah as the MAC as a whole will be way, way, way, way down next year and the Steiners are our best and last hope at a football title.

Perry is 4 hours from Marion Local. It's a little east of Mentor.

Ever heard of neutral site game? I know Mogadore has played several over the years.

I would still have to put girls volleyball as a notoriety sport. Other than Jackson Center who's the other pesky school that beats the MAC at state?

You act like that can happen by snapping fingers. That’s ALOT of logistics and likely a Saturday game during the day.
Correct.

The reason we don’t have more neutral site games in the regular season boils down to 1) (generally a) Saturday game, 2) at least one of the two teams still travels a significant distance, 3) the site hosting the game isn’t running a charity — one of the two teams (if not both) have to pony up to cover expenses like refs, which again, they’re traveling on top of that.

The only realistic reason to do neutral site games is if both schools lack the typical <7 guaranteed conference game schedules. Ft Frye and LCC did one in 2021 for that reason.

Great game. David vs Goliath in D7. ML has been impressive and you have to feel pain for the injured Hillsdale kid trying to help his team climb a huge mountain.
