I go back to the delusional OH Report announcers while watching the Danville/Beaver regional final….thought Danville could be the team to finally take ML down. It’s just unbelievable people think like that. Mind blowing actually. With all of the film available on YouTube, HUDLfan, etc…do people not watch or are they really that stupid?
I'm fairly close to a radio guy. He does cover many athletic events. The one thing he tells me over and over again is to build numbers you have to know your audience. My guess is the announcers were not really that misinformed. But they want to build their following, so they throw some red meat to the audience because such statements engender good emotional responses from the uninformed listener. That keeps them coming back to consume more of what they want to hear.

Zero titles.

Freshman QB Soph WR get them started on next year(5 yard completion)
It didn't matter what was called. ML had zero plays for negative yards (could be mistaken, but I don't think there were). The opening drive they took zero snaps on 2nd down and every play ran were bread and butter plays guaranteed to be on film and seen by scouts. If that pass would have been a deep timing pass, then they would have a valid point. But a simple out pattern to get a team away from 9 guys packed at the LOS is not unreasonable at all.

If you paid attention ML played as many kids as they could squeeze in with a running clock. They also gave as many kids as they could a chance to get a stat in a state final game such as a carry, completion or reception. It’s called building your program up for the future. A 5 yd toss is nothing more than a long hand off.

See for me that’s a turnoff. I get coddling the uniformed or the ignorant, it’s just not for me.

My nephew is a 6-3, 200 freshman and played a good portion of the second half. He mauled the Hillsdale varsity defensive line.

I can’t imagine.
Most people outside the MAC really don't know the uniqueness of this area. For example, the year that ML, Coldwater, and Ft. Recovery were playing for State Championships. There were grandparents from Ft. Recovery that had a grandson on each team. Wedding receptions in this area are regularly 500+ people with a mix of virtually every community. With the exception of Delphos St John and Parkway, cousins are competing against cousins every week! Winning against MAC foes is about more than just league titles, it's family and community driven. That internal competition is a huge factor in the MAC'S success state wide.

This article has a 15 page breakdown and stats for the game.

i hate to do this to you because i do it all the time, too. but dsj won that game 18 years ago. that game could of voted in the presidential election. it's been more than a few years
Lol, just throwing out the fact that the little guys can bite the big boys every now and then..Big schools don't wanna play small schools because they have nothing to gain from it..

Been hearing from Ft. Recovery family members for 6 months about the district baseball finals butt whooping ML took. They now will be silenced! Lol
Are any of the ML players involved in the below play related to the FR baserunner? Had to have made for a fun Memorial Day gathering, if so.

Not sure actually. Everyone was just in awe when Griffin Bruns (#15 on football team) did what he did. It was actually even talked about yesterday because he had a pick 6 in last years State game and one this year too. Along with Victor Hoelscher punt return TD's in back to back yrs. Couple of Ft Recovery baseball players have a parent that are ML alumni.
