you're right. i've taken it too far. just like marion local did today. i hope hillsdale brought their guidance counselor and some local preachers down to the sidelines to make sure the kids were ok after someone threw the football one time while they were down by 60 points.

I honestly feel bad for Minster.

They were considerably better than every D-VII team in the state except for Marion - yet didn't even get to be regional champs.

Not the end of the world, of course, but the Cats were state champ material outside of only one school that fielded a once-in-a-half-century team.

OHSAA may have to many Divisions and that is a topic of discussion for sure. If a Division 1 team was doing what Marion is doing what would the solution for them be? Can't move them up. On a side note I'm not from Marion and I'm not a Marion fan. But I have lived in Mercer County for the past 30 years. I lived and breathed GCL football in the 70s and 80s. I have seen countless talented teams, coaches, and players through the years. What this man (Goodwin) has done is nothing short of astonishing. I get that the bigger Divisions fans take issue with posters like myself that say Marion would do well in upper Divisions. I went to a big school in Cincy. So I get it. But nobody in the State will outcoach Marion and give them a week or longer to prepare for a team and he will absolutely gut everything you think your good at. I'm not arguing that D1-2 have bigger players. I'm not arguing maybe bigger schools have a couple faster players. I'm not arguing there are maybe more D1 athletes on the field on your team. I have seen that and I agree that can be the case. But all of that doesn't mean a Higher Division team can beat them.. It's 11 on 11 and he is the absolute Master at getting every one of his teams to play at a level (Collectively) higher than anyone else. Sure there are teams they wouldn't beat in the State. I just so happen to believe there aren't many.

Hillsdale kids are very tough and well coached, so they knew the opponent that was in front of them. There is a bunch of film out there on how Marion Local has won games for years.
 
Anyone remember when Delphos St. John beat Worthington Kilbourne a few years back?? For you folks not on the west side of the state, you just don't get it. Our small school football over here is outstanding. Get on Google maps and look where the MAC schools are. Small communities, hard working people that stay together and believe in community. That's the formula..

i hate to do this to you because i do it all the time, too. but dsj won that game 18 years ago. that game could of voted in the presidential election. it's been more than a few years :banana:
 
I think everyone realizes the kind of program Coldwater has right? John Reed. Chip Otten. 7 State Titles. 7 State Runners Up. Etc. Etc. Well look at what Marion has done to them the last 5 times played. 5-0 and a collective score of 153-35. It's not just todays game folks. They are clowning on everyone.
