Not sure on the exact number but 4 I believe. And yes you can lock it in D7 again next year, unless some really unforeseen circumstances come about.

Marion Local has scheduled “up” in non conference games the past decade. Kind of hard to get a feel of how playing the better teams in D1-D4 would go given those opponents have been Lima Shawnee, C-J, Wapak and Watterson. Wapak has had the best regular season records of those opponents with the games the past two years being competitive. ML won the first meeting against Wapak in convincing fashion. They beat C-J convincingly in both matchups. Lima Shawnee barely has a pulse most years so any win against them is meh. A 7-3 Watterson hammered them a few years back. I’ve been told that was an inexperienced ML and they improved as the year progressed. Same can probably be said for Wapak and C-J during their series with ML. The difference in athleticism and size on the interior lines of a Springfield, TCC, St. Ed’s, Glenville or Massillon would be a major challenge. I know that’s a four division span but those teams are more like each other than they aren’t.

I talked to a couple of ML guys last night at the TCC game. They made it sound that they would have trouble with D3 and above because of a lack of size. Their OL averages 215lbs. The bigger schools more often have more bigger guys.
Plus, most of the small school kids play both sides of the ball.

That makes a difference.
