Dover football 2025

the last 3 years dover was 18 - 14 and if it wasnt for the 16 team playoffs they wouldnt have been in the playoffs. 2021 they were 13 - 1 and the defense only gave up 12 points a game and was #2 in the region. been down hill ever since.
Wakefield was DC in 21

I believe Dover has tried multiple times and IV isn’t interested. I’m surprised because IV returns a ton of talent from their title team and likely would be a pretty decent favorite against Dover or any local team
IV had offers to play Kirtland and Ironton week 2 and turned them down because they want to play Dover again! There coaching staff even said that they enjoy the local competition against Dover! Always is the talk of both communities! So hopefully both ADs can get it worked out to play Week 2!

Dover might agree to play if the game is at Crater even though the most recent game was played at Dover also. Dover only has 5 home games on their 2025 schedule and since they think they're Massillon or Steubenville they should have no more than 3 or 4 road games.

With a new coach, as many home games is gonna probably be a good thing!

I didn’t understand that…. All contracts are 1 years contracts. No need to resign a contract that expired
The superintendent said all assistants would be asked to resign, she said that in November the reason being to give the new hire control of his staff. Coaching contracts run from early summer so it had to be done now.no one was offended,as a matter of fact the assistant coaches have been running the weight room for the football team.

That’s not true, I am 100% certain of that. It’s my understanding that Dover was waiting until the coaching change to all the new coach to decide whether or not to commit to a game. IV has no reason to not want to play Dover, Hopefully they figure it out and get it on the schedule, it’s a huge gate and an exciting game for the community.
IV did not want to play week 4. It is possible they would play week 2, maybe Dover wants the 6 th home game for the gate

I feel like it makes sense to just do another home and home with IV, but the years flipped: 25 at Dover, 26 at IV. Not sure if IV has 5 away games already like Dover, though. I’m sure both want at least 5 home games.

Why don’t u go talk on the NP post and try to win a playoff game

I think IV would play at Dover if need be. These kids are playoff tested the past few years and are flippen road warriors. Very comfortable playing away

New to the site, but thinking IV has little to lose here (in playoffs regardless for '25). More of a challenge for Dover with no playoff points with a loss and new coach may want to stay away from a rather strong opponent. Be fun to watch and scoreboard may need some extra lightbulbs :).

What was Ifft’s career record at Dover? Hard guy to replace. Folks need to temper their expectations right out of the Gate
30 years at Dover. 247-93. 11 seasons with 9 or more wins, which includes 3 undefeated seasons, 18 conference championships, 1 final four appearances, 7 regional championship appearances, and 23 playoff appearances. Tempered expectations indeed.

Gardner Pros - Proven OC with lots of head coaching experience and a "Hometown Boy" (Not sure if this is more pro or con...)
Gardner Cons - Applied for the job and didn't get it. So either he has a noble heart and bleeds Dover Crimson or has an alternative motive (perhaps he wants a job so he can leave West Holmes?)
