Very few CAT fans will be making the trip. And there are tens if not hundreds, interested in seeing the Tigas laying the wood to their Mildcats.

As an aside, rather than thumping Massillon's chest about beating up on the poor disadvantaged CATS of yesteryear, or St. Johns. How bout scheduling a home and home against the likes of Buford, Mill Creek, or Colquitt Co. out of Georgia?

FYI, St. Johns played Cedar Grove last season, and lost 35-13 in D.C. Mill Creek beat Cedar Grove 52-36, while Colquitt beat them 39-17.

Are you making the trip? Let's face it, the cats nor the tigers are what they once were, it should still be an interesting game. I'm assuming ESPN will cover it?

The reason the organizers of this event wanted the Valdosta-Massillon game as the opening game was because both the Wildcats and Tigers have lead the list of high school football teams that have the most wins in the USA. Valdosta is presently number one and Massillon had the most wins up until the 1980’s. Valdosta has 944 wins, Massillon 932 wins.

With the two best VHS defensive players not playing again in their lifetime. And after a 1000 mile bus ride. I'd be STUNNED if the CATS put up a decent fight.

As for my being at Paul Brown Tiga Stadium. Are you FER SERIOUS? I'll be residing on the thirty-five yard line, top row of the HAWG POUND, at the HAWG PEN in Norman Park, Ga.. To welcome the #11 ranked Tommy Knotts lead metro Columbia all star Dutch Fork Silver Foxes. Being hosted by the #18 ranked homegrown Packers of COLQUITT COUNTY. There was a rumor of an ESPN delayed taping, but I doubt if they can find us in the sticks of Norman Park, Georgia. But unless conditions have change from 2022. The Packers, as always, will be on NFHS.net the night after the bloodletting in PBTS!

As an aside, if you have a bucket list. A MUST SEE is being in the HAWG POUND on the thirty five yard line, behind the visitor's bench of Mack Tharpe Memorial Stadium, with a 1000 of my closest friends, to welcome them Dutch Fork boys to SOWEGA! And the first row of the HAWG POUND, is located about five FEET from the Dutch Fork bench. ***SMILE***

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO they didn't! Perhaps you have been misinformed by FAKE NEWS. Valdosta WAS Valdostaesque, until 1992. They had won 22 State titles up to that time. SINCE then, they have won TWO! And Colquitt whipped that butt BOTH of those seasons. (1998 and 2016) SINCE that time, they are barely a .500 ball club due to most of the talent opting to move their families out of the inner city, and into the LOWNDES zone, where they have more than a 1000 more students than the CATS, and five state titles.

No they didn’t what? Valdosta’s total wins are accurate. At the present time, the Wildcats have more wins than any other school in the country.

Unless I have suffered a seizure. Valdosta has NEVER, EVER, EVER, I mean NEVER relinquished their hold on the winningest team in America moniker. And THAT total includes two seasons, where they recently forfeited all ten wins. And another season, where they went 1-9, having lost all nine games by eight points or less.

As an aside, could you humor me heah. And kindly splain how Massillon was anointed NINE nattys. Yet has never, ever, ever, I mean NEEEEEEVER actually won a STATE championship on the field of play? Perhaps this is the NEW math?

With Massillon's win total, they neglected to mention that NONE of those wins were registered in POST season. and that them Tigas have been playing football for about TWENTY FIVE more years than Val DOS TA, not Val DOSE TA! OOOOPS!

Where do you get your information? The Tigers have 51 playoff wins. Ohio started high school football playoffs in 1972. Georgia had playoffs way before that.

WHICH ONE, the FACT that WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL, not Massillon, has NEVER, EVER, EVER, I mean NEVER won a State Championship on the FIELD? And you boys have played for a QUARTER CENTURY longer than the CATS? THIS makes as much sense as Notre Dame being VOTED NATIONAL CHAMPIONS in 1966, and they didn't even win every game. But Alabama DID and was #2 at 11-0! And when the Crimson Pachyderms challenged the Fightin Leprechauns to a match in post season. They told Bama, WE DON' T BOWL!***ROTFLMAO*** So Bama, led by Kenny, 'The SNAKE' Stabler, took on the #3 Cornshuckers of Nebraska. And da SNAKE whupped dat butt in THREE PLAYS in the Orange Bowl, 34-6! SAME o SAME o, for teams like the Washington Tigas. 10-0 and NATIONAL CHAMPIONS? Shirley you JEST?

The Valdosta Wildcat Media Guide, and in their 5,000 sq. ft. museum, located in the East endzone of DEATH VALLEY, Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.

What happened? I thought you hated Valdosta?
I merely give CREDIT, where CREDIT is DUE! If they lose every game hense forward. I won't shed a tear. BUT, I give credit to the CATS of old, due to the incredible efforts of one Wright Bazemore, who guided the CATS to fourteen state titles. One season, Coach Bill Peterson of FSU, tried to sign every one of the Valdosta defense. They gave up SIX points in thirteen games, until future Boston Patriot RB Andy Johnson, gave a super human effort, in bringing the Athens Trojans back from the dead in the third quarter. Down 26-7, he single handedly brought Athens back vie his running ability, with the final result, a 26-26 tie in the State finals.

You need to take the Evelyn Woodhead, Reading for Comprehension course. I meant playoff wins during STATE CHAMPIONSHIP seasons. To my knowledge, Massillon Washington has NEVER won ANYTHING since the playoffs started. All those championships were during TEN win seasons, when they were VOTED #1.

And since 1972, HOW many championships do you boys have? Z E R O?

Maxie, stop arguing with this idiot.
He's not arguing with lil ole MEEE! Because in order to engage in such exercises in madness. Requires actual FACTS to support the insane allegations, that dem Tigas won ANYTHING. Voting someone champions, is an exercise in futility by rational peoples.

EXHIBIT A: We only need to go to the 2022 7A GHSA playoffs, to see what an invalid process this really was. Had we used the ludicrous exercise of GIVING Massillon the state title through vote. They could have merely added yet another presumption of superiority to their asinine list of unsubstantiated state titles. As it WAS, Buford was actually tasked with winning five 7A playoff games, to decide the REAL champion. It WAS a good thing that the GHSA actually required Buford to do the deed, for that trophy. And at the gong of midnight in round TWO. The USA TODAY #3 ranked Buford Wolves went down in FLAMES at Joe Biden Stadium, to Jeremy Hecklinski, and his Walton Raiders. The FOLLOWING week, future state runners up Carrollton, lead by 2025 national freshman of the year Ju Ju Lewis, blew Walton a NEW one. OOOOOPS!!!!

IF the GHSA had gone the Ohio beauty contest route. We coulda saved a lot of gas and ticket prices, and just awarded Buford that crown, just like the Buckaroo news media had done, a thousand times in the middle ages for Massillon.
