so how good is Archbold this year?

so how good is Archbold this year?
Archbold is the real deal! Offense is averaging 41.3 points per game and defense is averaging 6.3 points per game, along with 3 shut outs. Quality wins over Liberty Benton (7-1) with a score of 44-14, Liberty Center (7-2) with a score of 41-7, Wauseon (6-3) with a score of 41-7. Haven't seen a team this dominant and consistent in NW Ohio for a couple of years. Also have a potential Mr. Football candidate in DJ Newman is among the leaders in NW Ohio for passing, rushing, interceptions, and punting.

Newman Stats (*has only played in the second half of 3 games) 9 games so far:
Passing: 98-138 (71%), 1377 passing yards, 18 passing TDs, 4 INT
Rushing: 103 carries, 929 rushing yards (9 yards/carry), 15 rushing TDs
Punting: 10 punts, 40.9 yard average
Defense (don't have last weeks stats, through 8 games): 4 INTs

Newman has been flat out dominate this year. It seems the only thing that can stop him is being put on the sideline once Archbold has a running clock. Week 1 against Genoa was the only time Archbold hasn't been up 30+ in a game and that was a 27-0 win.

As great as Newman has been, another kid that needs eyes on him is #59 Devon Morris (RG/DE). Power, strength, and an unstoppable motor. I've never seen someone sprint to form a huddle after a play faster. He has been wrecking havoc on the the D line all year and easily is playing at an all-state level.

Newman emerged as a premier dual threat quarterback last year as a junior, his sophomore year he had some of the ability but looked to throw first or scramble and throw. The threat of him always running freezes LB's and keeps them from providing extra pass coverage support but I've seen too many highlights of Newman keeping a play alive with his feet and stepping up in the pocket then rolling laterally and finding a wide open receiver downfield that was covered perfectly for the first 3 seconds of the play but Newman extends things and they are able to drift or find a seam and get open. Very tough to effectively have pass coverage for 4-5 seconds, also their line does a good job of using the defensive front seven's momentum against them. Oftentimes against a good blitz or bull rush with a lot of momentum the OL is content to just ride them out and let their QB find the open lane to step up into-Newman's instincts are next level when it comes to this which brings me back to extending plays and then the ability to finish them by hitting a WR 40 yards downfield on the run after they break away from their coverage as he is scrambling.
BUT...what they showed against Wauseon was that they can also effectively run the ball if the weather/field conditions are bad and they need to which could be what extends their season an extra game or two as opposed to a spread team that could not adapt to the poor weather(Wauseon)
