No one deserves first place votes aside from Versailles or Kirtland, lol.

I can’t speak for other teams but there is no way West Jefferson deserves a first place vote, not even sure if WJ is a Top 10 team.

Div VI appears to be Kirtland & Versailles on a collision course to the State Final.

So tell me about Williamsburg.

In the AP poll, they are #2 with two first place votes. In the Yappi poll, they are 20th with 2 total points. That means they were #10 on two different ballots out of the 20 Yappi voters.

How can there be this big of a discrepancy?

Division VI:
1. Versailles (19), 223
2. Williamsburg (2), 162
3. West Jefferson (1), 156
4. Kirtland, 150
5. Sugarcreek Garaway (1), 139
6. Rootstown (1), 93
7. Bluffton, 85
8. Collins Western Reserve, 56
9. North Jackson Jackson-Milton, 50
10. Cincinnati Country Day, 48
Others receiving 12 or more points: Beverly Fort Frye 31. West Liberty-Salem 29. Columbia Station Columbia 20. New Madison Tri-Village 18. Mogadore 13.

AP poll is a popularity contest and a joke, voted on by sportswriters who know very little about high school sports. 🤷‍♂️

Williamsburg plays a very weak schedule and historically is a first round KO every year.

These are the same voters who think Kirtland is only the 4th best team in the division.

I have always thought that the yappi poll is much more accurate and representative of true rankings. You have knowledgeable HS football fans on here.

Serious question here. Would the people responsible for setting these ranking today hold similar positions to those that determined state championships prior to 1972 ?
