Not that it really matters but the first replay was a catch/interception in the 2018 D2 game Massillon vs Hoban.Yes, 2019 was the first year. Payne (La Salle RB) TD run confirmation was first use of it.
The state final this state deserved. Congrats to the Irish on a fantastic season.Congrats to Watty. Great game and a great team.
LS92 is right. Replay started in 2019 for the OHSAA State Championships in football. Not that it really matters but the first replay was a catch/interception in the 2018 D2 game Massillon vs Hoban.
Central Catholic was the defending D-II state champion when they were bumped down to D-IIID2 and D3 teams would of made a great final four. I think Watterson and especially TCC have both been D2 recently.
I hope they are back in D2 next year. What a competitive division.Central Catholic was the defending D-II state champion when they were bumped down to D-III
If that's the play I'm thinking of they may have replayed it on the broadcast but it had no bearing on the game. I don't believe they were using instant replay then. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Not that it really matters but the first replay was a catch/interception in the 2018 D2 game Massillon vs Hoban.
Ya know what, my memory may have failed me. That could be what I’m remembering. I stand corrected. If that's the play I'm thinking of they may have replayed it on the broadcast but it had no bearing on the game. I don't believe they were using instant replay then. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks. They announced it at the game over the speaker when they were doing it that it was an OHSAA first. That's the only reason why I remembered it.LS92 is right. Replay started in 2019 for the OHSAA State Championships in football.
