Anderson receives the kickoff to start the second half. Saunders fumbles it, gets it back, runs into his own guy, and is brought down inside his own 15.
 
Burnam gets time to throw on first down and checks it down to Jallick for 5. Burnam runs it and picks up a solid gain and a first down to the 28. Next play, Burnam misses McClanahan and it's incomplete. Tunnel screen to Piening then gets blown up and it's 3rd and long. 3rd and 13, he throws it right to Avon DB Jakob Weatherspoon and he can't hang onto the INT. Anderson goes for it and Burnam somehow finds Jake Brammer to convert it at the 42.
 
Burnam runs it for 3, then throws it incomplete on another screen to Jallick. 3rd and 7, Burnam throws to Piening and he muscles his way through for a gain of 13 and a first down. Up tempo, Burnam rolls left, can't find anyone and gets shoved out for a gain of 2. Turner then makes a great cut, gets a blocker, and breaks off a huge run inside the Avon 10.
 
Turner runs for 2 on 1st and goal, then the officials blow it dead before the next play and they call a timeout. After a lengthy review, they call illegal substitution on Avon. Raptors will have 1st and goal from the 5.
 
They try a handoff to Turner and he loses 1. 2nd and goal, Burnam runs it in and takes it to the endzone from 6 yards out. Touchdown Anderson. Callahan XP is BLOCKED by Weatherspoon after a high snap and Avon retains the lead.

14-13 Avon, 8:50 3Q.
 
Maxey with a good return for Avon to their own 37. Smith gets the handoff on the first play and he gains 3. Good keeps the ball next play for another 4 and brings up 3rd and short. Smith picks up the 1st down with a nice second effort and gets the Eagles to midfield.
 
Smith with another powerful run to get down to the 41. 3rd and 1. Good keeps it and gets a nice gain after breaking a tackle up to the Anderson 28. Kaufmann gets the handoff next and gets another 14 while dragging Raptors along for the ride. Snow is beginning to let up a little.
 
1st and 10 for Avon, Smith gets the handoff and gets nothing. Higgins on the stop for Anderson. Good takes it himself for 4 next play. 3rd and 6, Smith goes right through the line and takes it into the endzone. Touchdown Avon. Eagles go for 2, Good runs it and does not get it.

20-13 Avon, 3:54 3Q.
 
Saunders fields the kickoff on a bounce and returns it to the Anderson 27. 1st down, Burnam checks down to Turner for 5. Turner gets the first down on a run past the 40, nice run for him. Timeout on the field as Avon #63 is injured.
 
Burnam runs on first down, gets a hole and gets popped while getting the first down, coming back as Anderson is called for holding, then a false start immediately after. 1st and 25 coming up for the Raptors.
 
Burnam with a nice throw on the run to McClanahan that picks up 18. Burnam then keeps it and takes it to midfield. 3rd and 2, Anderson gets called for another false start and that backs them up again. Burnam keeps it on 3rd and 7 and gets the first down at the Avon 45.
 
Burnam hits McClanahan for 11 and another first. Turner gets the handoff, makes a cut and gets down into the redzone. Short media timeout called. Next play Burnam scrambles left and takes a coverage sack for a loss of 4 at the Avon 22. That's the end of the third.

Avon 20, Anderson 13, end 3Q.
 
2nd and 14, Burnam has time and uses a great ball-fake to get himself running room and a first down at the Avon 7. Next play, Turner gets the handoff and gets it to the 3. Burnam tries to run it out of an empty set and gets nothing. 3rd and goal, Burnam runs again and gets 1. 4th and goal, Anderson calls a timeout to talk it over.
 
4th and goal from the 2. Avon crowd to their feet. They try yet another Burnam run and it gets blown up again and jesus christ Dreyer do you know any other play call. Avon gets it back at their own 5.

20-13 Avon, 10:27 4Q.
 
Kaufmann gets the handoff on first down for Avon and gets 5. Next play, Smith gets blown up by Higgins for no gain. 3rd and 5, Avon calls a TO with the play clock winding down. 9:01 left in regulation.
 
Good keeps it and gets to about a yard shy of the first. 4th and 1, Avon is going for it. Smith takes the handoff and gets it, picking up 3. What a gutsy call from Avon. Clock under 8 minutes.
 
First down, Good fires a deep strike to Maxey for a gain of 29. Next play, Grant Barr gets the catch and breaks two Anderson tackles and grinds down inside the Anderson 30. Next play, Kaufmann gets the handoff, bounces off another tackle, and picks up 7 to the Raptor 22. Then Good manages to handle a low snap and loses a yard. 3rd and 4 from the 23, Smith gets the handoff and pushes through for the first at the 19.
 
1st and 10, Good breaks a couple tackles and goes out of bounds after no gain. Clock stops at 4:34. 2nd and 10, Good fires over the middle and it's picked off by Ace Alston at the Anderson 3.
 
Anderson QB Justice Burnam had thrown at least one TD pass in 28 straight starts to begin his career; he didn't throw one in either the R8 championship vs. La Salle or the semis against Big Walnut. A lot of this is because HC Evan Dreyer loves to run Burnam like he's JT Barrett in the biggest games.
Update: Burnam has 25 carries for 122 yards and there's still a few minutes left.
 
First play, Burnam hits Jallick for 9. Burnam runs it next play and gets 3 more and the first. Next play, Burnam gets tackled at the line of scrimmage, good coverage by Avon. 2nd and 10, Burnam gets away from a sack and hits Jallick on a pretty pass to the 29. 3:12 left.
 
Burnam hits Piening for another first down, but Anderson gets hit with another procedural penalty that brings it back. 1st and 15, Burnam has to scramble and goes out of bounds after a gain of 3. 2nd and 12, Burnam hits Kathman up to the 35. 3rd and 4, Burnam runs it and just barely gets the first up to the 40. 2:12 to play.
