I just got back from this game and let me tell you if ever a game was over in the first quarter this was it. It was 21-0 after one with DLS driving. 35-0 with about 6 minutes to go in the second quarter.
They say this is the fastest DLS team in 10 years and I can see why. The defense is suffocating and the percision offense was scoring at will. It could have been 80-0 if Lad wanted it to be.
I made the comment to my friend that it looked like Loyola was playing in snowshoes.
DLS now uses a more spread offense rather then just the veer. They alternate QBs both with the ability to run the veer and either throw a dart or run it themselves. This is very hard to stop.
If they want a different look they have a drop back passer waiting in the wings named Nate Montana.
His little brother Nick was running the JVs to a decisive win over Loyolas JVs. He has a nice touch and scored both with passes and with some long runs.
Lets just say that the QB position is in good hands for the next few years.
