My take.

Division 1 (as weak as it has been in YEARS except for the top 2)
=================================================
1. Fairmont (Rae who?)
2. Springboro (deep and talented)
3. Fairborn (not near as deep or talented as in recent years, but still respectable)
4. Centerville (good young nucleus)
5. Butler, Tecumseh, everyone else (big drop off)

Division 2 (same old, same old)
===================================================
1. CJ (returns almost everyone)
2. Carroll (best player in Dayton area, experience, and depth)
3. Bellbrook (great depth and talent, but can they play enough defense to beat the top 2?)
4. Kenton Ridge (their conference REALLY hurts them come tournament time - so they play Southeastern as a non conf game???)
5. Alter (VERY young, will struggle before New Years, but will make some noise come playoff time)

Division 3
===================================================
1. Anna - by a LOT
2. Badin (no one else in MV D-3 is any good so I stretched the geography to Hamilton)
3-100. Everyone else (Versailles is always better late in the season, but that was an ugly first game ... gave up NINE 3s - maybe a down year?)

Division 4
===================================================
1. Tri Village
2. Minster
3. Marion Local
4. Fort Loramie (they'll move up by year's end as their press gets better)
5. ?????

FYI, Northmont beat both Tecumseh and Butler pretty handily during the season last year, and also took Butler out of the tournament. Northmont returns nearly everyone, lost one senior, but also got a girl back that had a knee injury and missed her junior year. Not sure how Tecumseh and Butler are tied for 5th, yet Northmont is included in your group as a "big drop off' from the rest. Is it overall record you look at? Northmont's scedule is a beast. Having Fairmont on there twice is tough enough, but having Fairborn, Centerville twice, Wayne twice (who is definately top 5 too by the way), Butler, Tecumseh, Alter, Middletown Madison, North Canton Hoover, Lima Central Catholic, and Beavercreek and the others.....We'd be lucky to split these games, but it doesn't make other teams better because they play less of a schedule.

IMO, Fairmont and Springboro are one and two, and then there is a big drop off. After that, it is anyone's ball game.

I meant for Butler, Tecumseh and everyone else to be number 5.
I think there is a big drop after 1 and 2 and a smaller drop after 3 and 4.
Northmont does indeed have a tough schedule.
Did they really lose to Madison by 20? Perhaps I should put Madison on the D-3 list? Looking at who did some of the scoring for them concerns me though. Northmont should not lose to Madison by 20. Last 2 years maybe. Not this year.
I don't like Wayne or Butler (coaching).
Creek is weak, as is Lima CC.
Tecumseh is like Greenon was a couple years ago. One player who shoots a lot.
Hoover and Alter are very well coached good programs.

We'll see what Centerville is made of in their first 2 games.
If they are as good as I think, they'll handle Mt. Notre Dame easily.
They then play CJ and I don't see them winning that game. CJ should win by 10-15

MND struggled last night against a decent Lakota West team. I think Centerville can beat MND tomorrow. Saturday's game will really show us a lot vs CJ, who has come out of the gates strong.

Kenton Ridge actually plays a Florida Team and a Georgia Team in the Bragging Rights, along with Tipp and Tecumseh twice each. Their downfall has been playing CJ, Carroll and Alter in the Districts last few years. Any other region and would probably be in Regionals last 3 hrs.

OK, I understand.
Northmont was up early against Madison by 10, 17-7, then had 6 straight posessions where they turned it over. Down 5 at the half, Northmont scored to take it to 3, then Madison ran off ten straight points and Northmont could not get it under ten the rest of the night. Down 14 with just under 3 minutes to play, Northmont subbed in the bench, while Rossi kept in 3 of his starters for some reason. It was really a better score than the score indicated, but honestly, Madison was the better team and a very difficult matchup for Northmont's first game. They were tall, 6'2, 6'1 and even their guards were big. Northmont's biggest player, that plays, is 5'11. After that we drop down to 5'7.
Also, sorry, not Lima CC, but Canton CC. Not sure how good they are.

In the GWOC Central, Fairmont is heads above the rest. Centerville is next, but they are not as imposing as Fairmont. Wayne got two or three move ins and that fills some voids they have had due to graduation. They will be tough IMO.
Northmont and Beavercreek are the next two teams and last year they split two close games. I think this year could go either way again.
Springfield is not going to be very good, unless they got some move ins or improved drastically since last year.

With that, outside of Fairmont, I think all of the teams in the middle will battle it out for 2nd thru 5th.

For comparison, here are the Dayton Daily News rankings:

D1:
1. Fairmont
2. Springboro
3. Fairborn
4. Centerville
5. Wayne

D2:
1. Carroll
2. Chaminade Julienne
3. Alter
4. Bellbrook
5. Kenton Ridge

D3:
1. Anna
2. Miami East
3. Madison
4. Versailles
5. West Liberty-Salem

D4:
1. Tri-Village
2. Minster
3. Fort Loramie
4. Marion Local
5. Miami Valley

No one is ignoring them, they are just not a top 5 team in this area. Bellbrook Tipp Carroll Urbana KR Alter CJ are all more talented this year.

Dabs.... Tecumseh got beat in the 1st qrt of the Foundation game vs Bellbrook 28-4.....There is no way that they deserve to be in the Div 1 top 5conversation..... Yes you read that correctly 28-4!!

PI-

I truly respect your opinion, but I don't even take into consideration Foundation Games, scrimmages, summer leagues, or any of those things. While Foundation Games are done for a wonderful cause, and scrimmages are done to show coaches different situations, none can compare to the regular season. A couple of teams I saw struggle in the preseason, has come out very strong during the early part of the season.

Dabs... I was there and I can assure you that this was no summer league game, shootout, scrimmage or any off season workout. .....

28-4!!!!

Actually it was a scrimmage/preview game. Tecumseh has played one game so far, a win at Westerville North.
