D7 R27 2025

I’m not sure what the deal is with the shipping containers.
I'm calling ICE. You know exactly what is going on.

For OVA account owners:
I’m not sure if 71MalkinMania has a Yappi account, but if he does, how much is he loving the consolidation thread right now??

Congrats to Briggs Wallace placing 8th in long jump at the state meet for Jr High with a jump of 19’ 8” (this is all divisions), he also runs in the 100M later today. Quite the accomplishment to qualify for those two events. He’ll be a FR this year at Danville joining his brother Cy who will be a SO.

Someone help me out here.

I see Fort Frye picked up North Adams for week 5, but the only North Adams I know of doesn't have football. It doesn't have in parentheses any other state either, so I'm stumped.

Part of me wishes Danville was D7 in softball (not a strong district without the Lady Devils), but OTOH they might have more potential to win it all in D6 than D7? @danville96

I love FC/NC District Finals above all else, but this year does not look like the habitual clash of titans in the rivalry’s history.
West Jeff game today will be tough. This is the 13th straight season Danville has made at least the district final.

As far as NC/FC . Danville beat NC 12-0 earlier this year and FC 16-0 last season so yes D7 Central district leaves a lot to be desired.

I admittedly don’t follow softball very closely (just a different game from baseball on so many levels, esp. in the high school game) but the qualitative on this season is so painfully obvious to someone who doesn’t know the technique of slap-hitting or pitching nuances inside the circle.

Neither’s in the MaxPreps top 25 for D7. Granted, FC is 26 and NC I believe is 32… so it’s not a complete hollow point. But, FC’s 18-5 (think it’s 17-5 with a duplicate tourney win?) is at -6.4 SOS and presumably it got a bounce with three games against #33 MP. NC at 9-14 sits at 5.1 SOS. This probably isn’t a year where the LCL runs multiple state titles in softball, but it’s still the dang LCL lol.

I’m not under the impression this is a particularly great NC team by their standards, and maybe it’s even odds as to who wins. Would love to see FC get it, of course, but I am fearful that a loss just undermines the rivalry concept. They really should play in all sports every year in the regular season, and this isn’t really a situation of two >20 win girls teams in the court sports locking horns where it’d possibly make sense for a matchup to wait until district finals.

If there’s reluctance on one school’s side to ink a deal, then what’s the point in celebrating “oh Danville [or any other team for a given sport] is D6 [different division]” to begin with?

Ah man the Reedsville Eastern football thing happened :(

I guess it's the golden age for them

Incidentally, I was actually likening “play a regular season schedule that doesn’t truly challenge — and get trounced right out of the gate against the first opponent to offer resistance” with the Eastern metaphor.

Now, comments like that may designate me as a “buttmuncher” to your point.
