D7 R25 2022

I agree 100% with this.
Lowellville's schedule will ultimately hurt them more than help them I feel allowing Toronto, Southern, Danville and NSP into this mix.

I watched Southern play McDonald, not a good barometer of how good they are, but they have Valley Christian and United at the back end, that will show who they are.
Schedule sets up nice for Southern weeks 7-10. Get both Valley and United at home with scrimmages against Leetonia and East Palestine prior to those two games.

Southern is very well coached and very physical not a lot of skill, would be a interesting match with Loweville clash of styles
I agree— it would be an interesting game. Lowellville used to play Southern Local a lot when they were both in the ITCL. Their old coach, Skrinjar, was interesting to say the least.

That’s a name I haven’t seen in a long time. Southern was scrappy and tough under him, though they didn’t win much. Then he got into some issues…

Don't know much about Toronto, but see they play Edison who I watched absolutely steam roll Mathews, which is a whole different story. Other than that I'm not seeing quality wins there.

Steam roll Mathews? What game did you watch? It is what it is and injuries took their toll. Like it or lump it, Mathews was in that game, was 14-10 at half.... I won't even say if the injuries did not happen that Mathews would have won, but the game would have went to the wire...

Just a thought on seeding…

It’s way to early to talk about running the table.
5-5 is realistic for Lucas as it sits. (Cubs have a few question marks and a tough row to hoe)
Week 1: CF is just too big. (0-1) So close ✅
Week 2: Cubs win a some what close one again. (1-1) Nailed It ✅
Week 3: We squeak out a nail biter on the road. (2-1) Missed the nail ✅
Week 4: Lucas wins by 3 scores. (3-1) 5 scores ✅
Week 5: Absolute toss up. Give me the Cubs at home. Barely. (4-1)
Week 6: Crestview stops the win streak. (4-2)
Week 7: Cubs get revenge from 2019. (5-2)
Week 8: We've been good at playing up. (6-2)
Week 9: FL wants some revenge of their own. They get it, but it doesn't come easy. (6-3)
Week 10: The Red Devils play inspired, but Lucas wins by a score. (7-3)

I'd agree, running the table is going to be a very tall order. In saying that, 5-5 would be slightly disappointing. My earlier prediction of 7-3 would be more than respectable, and I think, highly attainable. I'm sticking with it (with a caveat). My prediction to lose at FL may have been wrong, but we could drop one this weekend, or against LCC, or against Arlington, so 7-3 it is.

48-10.
38 points is steam rolled in my book. I watched the entire beat down, it was indeed 14-10 at half, but in no way was it that close. I call it like I see it. It was unfortunate to see the two get hurt but as much as you may like to think it, the outcome would have been similar.

It's hard to predict outcomes when injuries occur. Teams sometime deflate afterwards.

2 injuries caused a 34-0 second half?

48-10 would be considered a steamrolling.

5-5 is not an insult. A .500 Lucas would still win just about every head to head in the region.

Your 7-3 prediction involves one “absolute toss-up” and one (my personal favorite lmao) “we’ve been good at playing up” analysis.

So, you know exactly what I mean when I say 5-5 is realistic… it’s a good schedule. Last years Cubbies take this years Cubs behind the woodshed. (So far)

I think so too. That team was waaaay more physical.

Thanks @dnis30! Appreciate you putting this up & inviting all of us.

Ok, chuckleheads, the target is set - 2240 posts over 74 pages from 5 SEP - 27 DEC 2021. Obviously the off season won't have quite that intensity of one fan base questioning another's sportsmanship until around August or so, but regardless, have no doubt that this will be one of the best threads on the site.

Yea....that target might need reset.

Go to the DIV Thread and talk about how bad Struthers is. They will come on here to give this thread more post to talk about how they would be 4-0 with a schedule like Lowellville. Struthers is a bottom feeder in their region. Springfield will have a high seed in region 25 than Struthers will in their region at the end of the year.

Oof, you're so angry.

You do know who the HC at Struthers is correct? No JFK admirer will ever bad mouth a Bayuk. You my friend are barking up the wrong tree here. JFK / Struthers connection will remain as such for as long as Johny, Jeff, and Greenie are Wildcats.

Aquinas has a state title from the ‘80s. Buckeye Central has a (greatly ironic) recent state runner-up season.

Are we missing anyone? 🧐
