D3 Region 12 2025 Early Outlook

With the potential additions of Alter and Badin back into this region, region 12 looks to be one of the deepest and toughest regions to get out of in the whole state. Potential contenders include:
London
Wapak
Tipp
Bellbrook
Miami Trace
St. Marys
Alter
Badin

I’m not sure what everyone returns but I know a lot of these teams return A TON. It feels like any of these teams could win the region and it will be a gauntlet! Who are your favorites/predictions?

You forgot McNicholas. They have a lot coming back from a really good team who got sidelined last year when they lost their 3 yr starting QB in Week 9. They will likely be as good or better.

Bellbrook from my understanding is going to be down their RB Epifano, but I expect them to be very good still. Tipp is returning a great QB and Miami Trace has D1 talent on their roster, and then the three GCL co-Ed teams (McNick, Badin and Alter) won’t be pushovers either. Very tough region this year. I’ve also read from the WBL guys that Wapak is returning A LOT.

I would also throw Batavia in the mix, they have the potential to be a solid team this year. They return their QB who just threw 3600+ yards and 42 TDs, and a great WR along with other pieces. They play Miami Trace this year, and I may have to make the trip to catch that game. Their matchup with Clinton-Massie later in the season will also tell us a lot about this team as well.

This region is hard to predict, but something in my gut tells me that it will be either Tipp or Wapakoneta that break through and win it all.

Is that QB back?
No he graduated. My guess is they have 3 possible replacements. The rising Senior who played in week 10 and the 2 playoff games and did very well is probably the front runner . However there are two Juniors both primarily Wrs last season who are more athletic and might be the guy. It actually a good problem for Coach Orlando.

Besides Larkin who returns with Tipp? Larkin is a game changer no question, but would love to know who is coming back on that squad.

Tipp returns 8 starters on offense:
Will Strong WR- was Tipp’s second leading receiver last year (576 yards & 7 TDs in 8 games) and just received an offer from Army
Xavier Melton RB- 2nd Team MVL, went for 1015 yards and 12 TDs last season
Cade Havil TE- 2nd Team MVL, 24 catches 300 yards and 5 TDs as a sophomore
4 guys return on the OL that started at some point last season, Jeffrey Martin LT (HM all-MVL) Cal Connors G, Mason Dungan G, Ben Bledsoe T

On Defense Tipp returns 5 starters
Collin Isaac LB- 1st MVL, All State, 153 Tackles and 5 sacks
Max Deckard DB- 1st MVL, 32 tackles, 3 INTs
Micah Pyles-Dodd S- 41 Tackles, 6 PBU
Ryan Kolb DT- 32 Tackles, 4 TFL
Jacob Snyder NT- 21 Tackles, 3 TFL

Some newcomers to keep an eye on include sophomore Junior WR/DB Grant Titley, senior WR Aaron Hart, Senior LB Drew Husic, Soph. T Sam Adkins, Junior DB Zach Foster

Tipp also return their starting kicker Owen Baileys who was 6/8 on field goals last year.

Wapak returns one of their strongest teams they had ever. All state QB and WR in Moyer and Page at running back McMullen and Longsworth and also Richardson and Bishop at WR. Defense most of the playmakers are back very excited to see this team play

Agreed. Region 12 will be set in stone May 1st, will love to see what other teams join the region.

What do they return in the trenches and on D?

If I remember we lose 2 on the Oline and and 2 or 3 on the defense both corners are back with safeties linebackers a couple are gone but all league Buell leading defense and Walter

What exactly does McNic have coming back? While I agree that they will be good, especially if their Defense is as good as last year, I don’t think they are a threat to compete for the region. They won’t have enough offense IMO. However I’m willing to be persuaded

Wapak, St. Mary’s and Celina are no longer in Region 12. This changes the outlook quit a bit as Wapak would have been considered one of the favorites, Celina won the region 2 years ago and St. Mary’s is always a tough out. I have to think London and Tipp are maybe the favorites, granted I’m not that familiar with what Badin and Alter will be like this year,

Region 12 is adding Jackson. Great program down in SE Ohio. I would expect them to throw their name in the hat. But they are probably behind the GCL Schools, Bellbrook and Tipp.

Talawanda to Jackson is a 2 hour and 40 minute drive.. Tipp, Bellefontaine and the Cincy schools are all about 2 hours from Jackson

Tipp would be the favorite since they don’t have to face the WBL for this season. Will be interesting as I have felt top to bottom region 12 is stronger than region 10.

It is kind of funny, the WBL has been Tipp’s kryptonite as of late: whereas the GCL Co-Ed has a had a Tipp problem in 3 of the last 4 years with Alter, CJ and Badin all bowing out against Tipp. I agree with you on the region thing.

Jackson is very big up front and has a QB that will be a 3 year starter, their biggest question mark will be who is going to line up at RB.
