Not sure why it is listed as Garfield as these teams will be at Perry this year but it is what it is. We will be at Rootstown on Saturday and I have some time to look at things so here are my thoughts. I want to thank https://www.borofanohio.net/d3 for all the time he puts in doing what he does. Makes it easier for me!

At Rootstown 3:00 start

#9 Lake Catholic vs #8 Cleveland CC- I see Lake Catholic winning this dual. Lake Catholic has ranked wrestlers at 106-#3 Pikar, 120-#4 Romano. Cleveland CC has ranked wrestlers at 113-#5 Pearson, 138-#13 Harrison and 150-# 18 Adams. The winner of this dual will face #1 seed Rootstown.

#1 Rootstown vs winner of dual listed above. While there will be a few contested matches of interest, the Rovers will win by a big score. Rootstown has ranked wrestlers in D3 of 113-#19 McEweun, 120-#10 Edwards, 126-#35 Lee, 132-#15 Malek, 138-#19 Paulus, 144-#13 Wise/DuVall (haven't seen Duvall yet this year), 150-#13 Youngblood, 157-#17 McKibben, 165-#16-Rieheld, 175-#2-Coontz, 190-#6 McKenzie. Too much for LC/CCC.

#5 United vs #4 Columbia- I figure United to win this dual but I could be wrong, Ranked wrestlers are 106 #24-Frye (Columbia), 113-#2 Schulke (Columbia),138-#15 Baker (United), 157-#19 Governale (Columbia), 190-#5 Garrow (Columbia) 285-#6 McCracken (United)

Finals-Rootstown should win by a big score vs either United or Columbia.

I'll take a look at the bottom half of the bracket later but for some reason I see Perry beating S Range. Probably bonus points.

OK let's take a look at the bottom bracket:

#7 Tuslaw vs #10 Manchester- Tuslaw has ranked wrestlers at 106-#7 Lawson, 126-#11 Knouse, 144-#14 Cooper, 150-#5 Lyons and 157-#18 Vanest. Manchester brings 126-#10 E Kusmits. I saw Manchester early in the year at the Waterloo D3 Classic. 120 lber T Kusmits is tough. Tuslaw should win this one.

#3 Perry vs #6 Garfield-Perry brings 120-#7 Rowan, 126-#15 Ciolli (Schlauch wrestled and placed 3rd at the CVC tourney at this weight), 132-#3 Christian (was DQed in the CVC final at 138, will he wrestle?, Bezzeg placed 1st at this weight at the CVC tourney), 157-#21 LaMacchia, 165-#14 Brubaker, 175-#18 Bertone, 190-UR Taylor (2nd CVC tourney) and 285-#11 Walker. Garfield has 3 ranked wrestlers. 150-#22 Sparks, 165-#2 Andel and 190-#2 Sell. Perry will have too much for the G-Men.

I figure #7 Tuslaw vs South Range in the bottom semi. Tuslaw's wrestlers are listed above. South Range has multiple ranked wrestlers. 106-#5 Newell (EOWL champ), 113-#20 Welker, 132-UR Welker (4th at EOWL), 144-#12 Richardson, 150-#8 Freshman phenom Seesholtz, 157-#8 Starkey, 215-#6 Colucci. South Range will have to much for Tuslaw. Should be a competitive dual though.

Finals- Perry vs S Range. I just think Perry will move some wrestlers around and win this dual by double digits.

Good Luck to all the wrestlers!!

#7 Tuslaw vs #10 Manchester- Tuslaw has ranked wrestlers at 106-#7 Lawson, 126-#27 Knouse, 144-#12 Cooper, 150-#5 Lyons and 157-#17 Vanest. Manchester brings 126-#23 E Kusmits. I saw Manchester early in the year at the Waterloo D3 Classic. 120 lber T Kusmits is tough. I thought their 132 Cam Davis won Waterloo but I don't see him ranked and no results from the Dies. Injured maybe? Regardless Tuslaw should win this one.

#3 Perry vs #6 Garfield-Perry brings 120-#4 Rowan, 126-#15 Ciolli (Schlauch wrestled and placed 3rd at the CVC tourney at this weight), 132-#3 Christian (was DQed in the CVC final at 138, will he wrestle?, Bezzeg placed 1st at this weight at the CVC tourney), 157-#20 LaMacchia, 165-#14 Brubaker, 175-#17 Bertone, 190-UR Taylor (2nd CVC tourney) and 285-#11 Walker. Very weak upper half of the bracket. I’d rank as Rootstown #1, South Range #2, Perry #3, Tuslaw #4, Garfield #5, Lake Catholic #6, United #7, Columbia #8, Manchester #9 and Cleveland CC #10. I’ll take the top two seeds to advance. Go Raiders!!
