Superb times, albeit without a wind gauge (ARGH!), by Coy Hyre (Brookville) at the Ross HS (SW of Hamilton) track. Given the orientation of the track (South-to-North on the front straightaway), it's difficult to know what the wind was doing (I'm open to anyone's comment that was there!), but as I know the terrain in that area of the world, it wouldn't surprise me if these would've been wind-legal performances if a gauge had been in use.

Honest assessment...in my opinion. I'm a Brookville Coach. 100 was probably wind aided...wind speed was probably 12-15 mph but it was not a direct tailwind at all. I'll say it was a cross/tailwind The wind had calmed down a little for the 200...maybe 8-12 mph. It was probably a little closer to allowable wind. I'm obviously not a human wind gauge but IMO they were probably slightly wind-aided but not by and enormous amount. Most kids in the 200 ran about .1 to .2 faster than their previous best on the season, if that says anything. SW Ohio has some fast sprinters this year. Two Wayne kids ran sub 21 at the GWOC Meet and Jordan Gross from Vandalia Butler is running incredible stuff as well.

Thank you for that feedback on those races. Very much looking forward to seeing what the these boys will be doing over the next few weeks!

FYI - I do keep a list of 100/200 performances that are sub 10.50 & 21.00 that are wind-aided and those without wind readings that have been recognized as wind-aided by T&F News. I do that in case someone in the future has questions regarding those marks.

Coy moved to #9 all-time with his 20.96 (+0.4) win at the Trotwood-Madison D2 district meet on Saturday! He also ran a swift 10.46 100m with a +1.5 wind.
