Final Comments:
We have a lot of veteran players, with a ton of experience. 4 year starters: Caitlyn Pleska SS, Maryn Hepler 3rd, Cameron Perkins C, Ella Dota CF, 3 year starters: Alivia Bell, 1st, Ana Yonker RF, 2nd year: Kyla Hogan 2nd, Landry Smith LF, 1st year starter: Addison Brode P/DP. Our six seniors have played in a total of 402 games in their varsity careers so far. We return 1st Team All-Ohio shortstop Caitlynn Pleska, who was fantastic last year. She is coming off a year in which she had 65 hits, 23 doubles, 12 homeruns, 65 RBIs, 54 runs scored, and slugged 1.375, all of which are school records. She will also be a leader in the circle for us. Cameron Perkins returns behind the plate, where she has been solid the past two years (played 3rd as a freshman). Last season, Perkins, threw out 50% of base-stealers (12 of 24) and had 7 pickoffs, while showing off her durability by catching all 30 games (167 innings). Maryn Hepler is coming off a season where she didn't make a single error in 68 chances playing shortstop and 3rd base, while having 40+ hits and scoring 40+ runs from the leadoff spot. Ella Dota solidified her spot in the top of the order by hitting .466 over the last 21 games with an OBP of .592. Alivia Bell, who has been the DP over the past two seasons will hold down 1st base and Anna Yonker has looked fantastic in right field during our scrimmages. Kyla Hogan will play second and fill in at short when needed, while Landry Smith will lock down left field. Newcomer Addison Brode, Fr, and Peyton Stoy, Jr will be called on to eat a lot of the 108 innings pitched by graduate Mackenzi Gamble last season. Brode will also DP and play some 1st base. Junior, Alexis Sperling, will serve as our team's backup catcher and provide depth at corner outfield positions. Reagan Bell will be a utility player, with the ability to play three infield spots and corner outfield. We expect to compete for our 4th consecutive outright conference championship and a deep playoff run.
