College Track & Field - Cross Country - Reduced Roster!?

HUGE pressure now on D1 coaches to PRODUCE competitive programs. They'll have go more for foreign athletes for instant success. D2/D3/NAIA/JUCO & other orgs will be the only venues for most HS athletes going forward.

In theory, it should shift where kids go. The limits are above what the averages are. So, NC State will lose kids but another school should pick up numbers. (Not what will happen, but it's the assumption I believe they are working under.) Problem is schools that are already under the numbers aren't going to increase their rosters unless they have big pocket alumni.

The roster limit only applies to schools that partake in revenue-sharing. If a school does not partake in revenue sharing they are still allowed to have an unlimited roster size but are limited to 12.6 scholarships at maximum.

With the new roster limit of 45 for revenue-sharing schools, odds are they still only use around 12 scholarships. If they've made it this far with only that many they will continue to do so.
