COLLEGE FOOTBALL 2024-2025

21+ point losses
Maybe, but both of those games are at neutral sites. Navy is more diversified than normal and Army is more physical than normal. And we've all seen ND looks less than special this season. If I was a betting man, I'd take those 21 points.

Something to point out here and it just goes to something that I'm amazed we even have to discuss. It's becoming popular for college football players to fake injuries (mainly on defense) to stop the play of games and allow personal changes or just simple rest. I mean where are we at now in sports that players just blatantly cheat. This is an integrity issue and it's not just a football game. If you resort to doing something like that just to compete in a football game, what are you capable of in real life?

I remember a thread a couple of years that said " If you were in charge, what rule would you change?" I noted that if I were in charge, these 'injuries' would result in a player having to sit out 5 plays. This would either eliminate, or greatly reduce these fake injuries. If they are truly injured, then 1 play being off isn't safe. If a player comes back prior to the 5 plays, call it illegal substitution. If it happens 3 or more times in a game, unsportsmanlike conduct

I don't mind your concept, but someone has to track all this stuff. I also think you'd have some pushback because players would try to play with legit injuries and a more severe injury could happen.
To me, this boils down to a fair play component. I mean are we really going to fake and injury just to try to change the outcome of a game? So many of these coaches preach integrity, commitment and loyalty? Where is that?

The players are faking injuries because they are told to by the coaches. Ask the last question to Michigan fans on here that are ok with Harbaugh cheating to win a title

Im sure they are good teams but along with Clemson, Notre Dame is a team I wouldn’t want to be playing right now. They look very good and seem to have found their stride.

How can you prove if a player is faking a cramp or not? Better off not trying to micro manage everything.
I agree, it's not easy and cramping is a tough call. Not sure I'm even offering a solution. My main point is players, coaches and fans who would even want to win that way?

I need to see more from Clemson. They looked awful against a suspect Georgia defense. Everyone else they played so far isn’t very good. App State, NC State, Stanford, Wake Forest and Florida State are all bad teams with losing records.

True but they looked very good in dispatching them.

First, I want to say that I am rooting for Tennessee.

With that said, is this game fixed?

I turned it on late with about 8 minutes left in the game. Three calls seemed to go Tennessee's way.

1. TD call that looked like it may have not been secured before hitting the ground. It was close.

2. Defensive end jumped offsides just as the ball was snapped. Really close but looked early.

3. Dropped pass on 3rd and 7. Tennessee defender gets in the face of the Alabama receiver. The WR then pushes the defender. The defender pushes back. I'm yelling at the sweetie DB but they call personal foul on Alabama WR. It became 4th and 22.

Some questionable calls at crucial points in the game all went Tennessee's way.

They are now up 7 with 1:30 left and Alabama out of timeouts.

Bama is tanking so they can fire DeBoer

Really wasn’t too sold on Texas when I saw them against Michigan. Ewers really isn’t all that good and has a weak arm. They need to bench him and go with Manning.

Teams like BYU, Notre Dame, Clemson, Miami, and Boise State all need to keep winning to keep as many SEC teams out of the playoffs. Don’t want that conference or the Big Ten for that matter getting more than 3 teams each.

Look at Sarkisian making the common sense/smart move benching Ewers while OSU fans are stuck with a clown coach like Ryan Day who can’t police his own staff and can’t even bench a scrub CB like Denzel Burke.

Just a completely different level of coaching in that conference vs whatever clown show Ryan Day is doing

Ewers isn’t very good, Texas offense really struggles to create explosive plays with his lack of arm strength. Their offense looks identical to Ohio State. I think I even take Howard over Ewers

Another top 5 win for Kirby Smart. What they’ve done in the last 5 years is the level OSU needs to be operating at. Those are the expectations for Ohio State.

And then put him back in. What’s your “expert” take on that?

If they meet those expectations you would want more. Buckeyes are good. Crazy year in college football but I put my money on the Bucks, PSU coming up but Indiana scares me more. If Day beats Michigan would it matter to you? Win out and Oregon in the BIG champ game and then probably again in the playoffs is my thinking.
