Cleveland Guardians

They just collectively look act and feel dead. This is the first time I've noticed them not doing the little things that win you games-Martinez applies the tag too high and runner at 2nd gets his hand in safe, etc.. They're just mediocre right now. It is 2023 again.

Injuries aside Fry and Thomas offensively are shells of what they were last year. Aside from Kwan and Jose nearly everyone else has regressed except maybe Arias. Schneemann's decent but not someone you build a team around. Will Wilson WTH is he and why is he playing? Nolan Jones enough said. There's no spark, no magic. There's no staff ace-Bibee's this year's hard luck pitcher, Williams and Ortiz are all over the map and same Cecconi.

On the plus side, someone said Bo Naylor has more HRs than Josh so we got that going for us. Theres just not that much there.

Everything went right for them last year. They did nothing to improve from that team. All of their good luck from last year is getting balanced out this season.

Look at this roster. Other than Jose and Kwan, there's not a single player who's an above average MLB player at their position.

But, but, but...he didn't start Ryan Merritt, a guy with 3 wins in his entire career, in a pivotal WS game, so he bad.
 
Will Brennan had TJ surgery now too. Ok, time for someone to figure out what the team is doing wrong with so many TJ, let alone 2 position players within a year? It's extremely suspect
 
There's a guy out there who could help solidify the staff. A proven veteran, Cy Young Award winner, All-Star. He'll play for league minimum.

Trevor Bauer. His record certainly makes him a better Browns candidate. He's pretty much been vindicated on the sexual assault allegations. I don't think I'd want that head case back but it is an interesting scenario. It will never happen. Pair him with a trade for wife beater Marcel Ozuna who they could get cheap in a trade with Atlanta. LOL.

He’s been horrible in whatever minor league equivalent abroad league he’s in. He isn’t even a shell of his former self. Heck, some random guy at Barstool got a hit off him awhile back.

He was 10-0 in Mexico last year and is 4-3 in Japan this year. I don't really think he's a solution.

He ended up being to the Dodgers what Watson has been for the Browns. At least the Dodgers didn't mortgage their future for their pervert!

looking into it, he actually has better stats than what I remember in Japan and Mexico, but his ERA has steadily been climbing the last few years. For some reason I thought I remember seeing his ERA was 4+.

well the thing that could not happen to this type of team is all of a sudden happening . the fundamentals, base running, making the routine plays ,thrwoing to the correct bases and cut offs have all gone south..a team that cant rely on pouding out 3 run homers and needs to play real little ball must do all the mental and routine things perfectly ..this team isnt for some reason... i meen last night they made a mockery of the game ..3 errors ( should have been 4 ) . And Ill tell you , Vogt is starting to panic with his pincj hitting moves.hes grasping at straws . the chickens are not all the way home to roost yet,BUT t=you can hear them on the other side of the hill and they are getting close..

Can this team do anything against the Reds? This is the 5th game this year where the Reds are pounding us and Cleveland is doing nothing offensively to counter any of it. This team is getting impossible to watch. It is literally the same offensive performance for how many games this season.

Ha. Underwood is dang good. Realize that he (and other play by play guys) are working with meat heads (the COLOR guy). A big part of his (and the producer) job is to softball T it up and make the COLOR guy look and sound good.

"Now Rick, I've never played the game so what are you thinking when you're at bat and down 0-2?

"All I'm thinking about is putting the ball in play, or at least getting a piece of the ball and staying alive".

"And there you have it folks. Thanks Rick".
 
I've been seriously watching almost all of the games since 2018. This has to be nearly the worst I've seen the team offensively in that time. 2023 was bad too but this takes it hands down. The talent drain on this team since I began watching in 2018 is out of this world.
