Cleveland Browns 2025 Edition

I'm not in the Milroe camp, but after Ward, Sanders and Dart, I think he has the most potential of those in the remaining pool. He's also a military kid, well spoken and has played in a top notch program, so I wouldn't be upset if the Browns took him outside of the first round.
Other than he sucks...

"But, he's an analytics dream. I mean, look at his 40 time! So what if he can't hit an open receiver. He could throw out a runner from right field! Does he fit into the Stefanski system? Who cares; look at his 40 time! The Browns can use the same system they used for Watson last year. We'll take him." - Paul DePodesta

I'm not proposing the Milroe is the answer. I'm just stating he's a possibility for the Browns and think he's as good as anyone in the second tier. He's certainly a project.

Agreed, but how many times have the Browns taken a project that has actually contributed according to the round he was drafted? Especially at qb.

I'd much prefer a late round flyer on Will Howard (or Ewers, Rourke or Gabriel) to be honest.
I agree … I am in the camp of draft Carter/Hunter in the first round and either Dart/Shough in the second (if still available) if not take one of the ones you named later in draft … I like the idea of getting an almost sure thing in the first and then gamble on a QB later.

Shough might be the best talent … age and injury history is what is holding him back … I could see them drafting him and signing Caron Wentz and letting the three (Wentz, Pickett, and Shough) battle it out … I just don’t want Russell Wilson

Im on the will Howard bandwagon too. I think it's pretty obvious that we won't be getting cam ward. Id love for us to trade down a few spots and get either the top offensive lineman or get Carter. The extra pick or picks by trading down will give us the flexibility to go after a prospect

I don't really feel great about anyone in this draft class. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic because I'm so used to whatever the Browns do turning into trash.

To me it is about risk reward … the risk is much lower not drafting someone in the first round … but the rewards are nearly the same … and I like the idea of getting a stud in round one.

I was higher on Ewers until the college playoffs when he looked like he couldn't push the ball down the field. He looked like this generation's Colt McCoy. Gabriel is too small and may have a weaker arm than Ewers. Rourke is intriguing as he has the size and is a pocket passer guy but not a strong arm guy. I saw him play some in the MAC for OU and he was better than the MAC competition he faced. Wil Howard's arm strength is questionable. Slough is an intriguing as he has a big time arm and can drive the ball but I always worry when someone bounces around as much as he has. He has been in college so long that he was once Justin Herbert's backup! The Browns are having him in for a visit.

I guess there's a reason these guys are all day two or three guys.

I thought same about Howard, then I saw him throw in person in Pasadena. Also, sure seems to fit Stefanski offense....the thing the front office refuses to ever try

Nice scouting report on Sanders here-

One highlight of the article is the quote "that if Hannibal Lecter ran a 4.3 NFL teams would diagnose him with just an eating disorder."
Good article … I don’t dislike Sanders, just think there are better options at #2 … plus the difference between him and the next few QB is not that much … I would rather take a near sure thing in Hunter/Carter and then gamble later on a QB … I also heard a guy on the radio theorizing that the Browns told Garrett that they were going to pair him up with Carter … that is one of the reasons why he came back … well that and the $$$$ … interesting theory.

My theory is they told Garrett they were taking a QB at #2 and he saw that as a negative to his timetable. They had to add money to the deal to get him to overlook it. I guess we’ll find out soon.

I wonder where Kenny Pickett plays into the timetable. LOL.

Maybe they told him they were drafting Carter to help his numbers.

The Browns cannot take a chance at #2, but must choose a player who can step in immediately and make a positive impact. They cannot hope that the choice will develop eventually. It must be as sure a thing as possible.

So you take Mason Graham?

If they trade down a couple spots, yep. They would never draft him at #2, although he might be the best bet.

I only referenced him because he is the most certain of the bunch to be productive. The QBs could be boom or bust and I am not entirely sold on Carter.
